Anyone else taking a vintage washer for a spin today? This 1995 Kenmore came to me about 5 years ago. It was gone through and sent to a new home at the time. It came back a few weeks ago because it was not needed anymore and will be going to a new home again soon. It only had one repair in the last 5 years while in service and that was a replacement water inlet valve.

Unusual...

for the lid to open in that fashion, I assumed that some top load machines from the '50-70's opened that way, guess I was wrong.

Wondering why Whirlpool went with different lid arrangements.

Yesterday was laundry day

Washed and dried seven loads of just Over two hours, Usually do laundry every 2 to 4 weeks for two of us that’s a lot of large loads, the weather was so nice yesterday low humidity and only low 80s so it was a good laundry day.

Started out with the usual load of really dirty white socks, cleaning clause, etc., in the calypso, 12 pairs of jeans and work pants in the stainless steel Speed Queen front loader, large load of pajamas, T-shirts, dinner, napkins in the whirlpool resource saver, the water from that machine was directed into the 71 lady Kenmore with a large load of black T-shirts jeans.

Did another load of T-shirts, etc. in the smaller Speed Queen load washer, including a really nice cotton hat that says not to worship, but my partner was visiting a friend and the cat likes Todd so much but the cat decided to sleep on top of the hat and Todd is allergic to the cat so in the washer, it went even though it said not to wash it but it came out perfectly however I did not put it in the dryer.

Did two huge loads of towels in the outdoor KitchenAid front load washer one load of all light colored towels with bleach one load of colorful beach towels that we use when we go to the swimming pool and a bunch of bathrobes, even those huge loads of towels, dry, and only about 40 minutes in the supersized whirlpool Kenmore gas dryer.

I always wonder how people get along with just one washer and dryer, lol it must take all day.

John

Maytag Neptune, twin dryer

I think I only ever use the upper drying cabinet part of this machine. Once, I think it would work in theory pretty well. I installed this when I had a different partner
who was very fussy about his clothing and I thought it might be useful.

I’ve never had any trouble putting stuff in a regular dryer at least my clothing, I did the lower half of the Maytag yesterday to dry a load of napkins and T-shirts, etc. it’s an OK dryer. It’s not the fastest dryer but it works. It’s only 18,000 BTUs.
