A set like this doesn't pop up too often these days, let alone this clean, and a suds saver! RUN, don't WALK! Appear to be roughly 1972 - 1974ish.

first of all, its a matching 806 set.....and at THAT price, and in excellent shape.....it would be worth shipping....

It seems like a great deal, and I don't even have any experience with, nor knowledge of Maytags in general.
Just for me personally, by the time shipping was factored in, I could no longer do it.
Not saying it wouldn't still be worth it.
I just couldn't swing it.
But if I was local to the seller? I'd already have them!

Would this dryer have the "Halo of Heat", as featured in the POD?
And, is that a good design?

Yes this is a HOH dryer. The performance of the dryer has been debated for the lifetime of this form.

Will it dry clothes? Yes.
Is it a perfect dryer? Not necessarily, but not all dryers can be a bulkhead Whirlpool.

Our DG806 HOH dryer was the best one I've ever owned, and there isn't a dryer out there that's easier to use, as quiet, and (perhaps) as efficient. 

 

Personally, I think Maytag's gas HOH dryers perform better than their electric ones.

Wow all that washer needs is a new set of buttons and she'll be show room condition. I wish I could get that set. Looks to be a suds saver too.
