I love that video clip Classiccaprice. She kept her cool and rolled with it. Love that. The subdivision where I grew up in Brookfield, WI had about a 5th of the homes as all Westinghouse electric homes, with a little placard that proudly proclaimed them as such. Must have cost a FORTUNE to heat in the winter, I'm sure.

You would be surprised..

Electric heat is great, my uncle the electrician installed tons of it in the 60s and 70s, both radiant ceiling and baseboard, yes ,it can cost a bit more to run, but where you gain is ,it usually never needs any service, I know of several houses built in the 50s with baseboard heat that have never been touched and still work great, when you factor in the cost of keeping a heat pump or oil furnace running, electric heat gets cheaper and cheaper, another plus is its QUIET!!!

Keep in mind the heat pump MOVES heat rather than trying to create it as electric heat does.Less energy-effort is required to move heat than to create it.I would rather use a heat pump if you have to have electric powered heat-rather than the resistence heaters. The resistence unit for my place is something like 50-60Kw-that is like a dummy load for a 50Kw AM transmitter!Would rather move that heat than create it or convert it from the electric. The resistence heater for my place isn't connected-uses heat pump only-works just fine.
