Linkie?

I dimly remember some sort of hot lather machine being advertised on the telly back in the 70's or 80's. I thought it was a neat idea, but...

For a while in my 20's I used cake shaving soap, a cup, and a little frothing brush for the daily face scrape. Never did go the route of the straight edge razor though. They kind of scared me. Nowadays a dispo razor in the shower takes care of trimming the periphery of the beard.

IMHO the whole shaving cream industry is a bit of a scam. I get perfectly good results (albeit on a reduced playing field) if the stubble is softened by the shower, and then just ordinary bath or hand soap does the rest.

Me likey Edge gel, in the shower. First 'round shave down. Second round shave up. For some inexplicable and strange reason the second round is done with ordinary bath-bar "soap".
Now that must be a past life carry-over /bleed-through! Even my grandfather used shave-cream!

The Gadget and I saw new hot-lather machines offered for sale in the junk stores just a few weeks ago.

I wish, though, someone would tell guys at the gym that pressurized cans can explode in the steam-room. It's a great shave in there; but against all the health rules.

Shaving Cream in the Steam Room

Toggle, have you said anything to the management about this?

One of my BIG pet peeves is when they SPIT in the steam room! ACK!! GROSS! Talk about a health hazard.

I used to have a Schick Hot Lather machine. It worked great. Nice to wake up with hot lather. It worked fine for about a year until I went to use it one day and got the electrical shock of my life! It promptly went in the bin.
