Gee TO Tiger June 1965

Anyone remember this ad campaign? Count the number of times "The Tigers" sang the word tiger in this Pontiac/Hurst promotional recording, and win this car! A boy in Wisconsin won it, by guessing 42 times. The car is a prized item with its second owner. The blonde girl on the far right of the VM record player, and the far left next to the car, is my roommate. It is the only ad she ever did. She is only 5'2".

Well shucky darn, I don't remember the ad, but I remember Voice of Music audio equipment, Pontiac GTOs and the prestiege of having a Hurst Shifter. Did you know your roommate at the time of the ad? Does she remember if the driver in the GTO was as hunky as he looks through the windshield or was it the same guy who is spazzing out to the music in the top picture? Oh well, almost any male's image is helped when he is driving a great car. Thanks for sharing. Tom

I didn't meet this lady until May of '04. I would have scanned this, but I haven't perfected that yet. The guy inside and outside of the car are the same one. She never said anything about him, just that they had to repaint the floor to cut the glare and reflections on the car. She turned 18 when this ad hit all the Petersen publications(Car and Driver, Motor Trend, 'TEEN,etc) June '65. She was considered too short to go into modeling at 5'2", but she got into the USO as a dancer and various other things as time went on.

Betty White was--and is still-"fantastik!"

I remember that Fantastik commercial...think it came out about 1969--amazing how hairstyles (and colors) have changed through the years...

And you just knew under that nice sticky-sweet exterior, there was a Sue Ann Nivens or Rose Nylund just waiting to burst out!)

In fact, YouTube has the clip of the open and close from her 1957-58 TV series "A Date with the Angels", sponsored by Plymouth...you'll see Betty waving at the camera as she and her TV husband cruise past in a beautiful '58 Belvedere convertible (the "Star of the Forward Look")...

If I haven't said, I love Betty White too. There is an insane Plymouth commercial she does, at the close of the show, where all of these elegantly clothed dancers swoop around "singing" Plymouth!! The car with The Forward Look!! The car that's ahead for keeps!! There is also a Plymouth tie-in with Ray Anthony's TV show, and possibly then wife Mamie Van Doren.

Somewhere around here I actually have an episode or two of "Date With the Angels". I remember one is a Christmas episode and featured Nancy Kulp (smoking!) as one of Betty's friends.

Vintage Commericals

We should get Our Robert (Unimatic1140) host the vintage commericals, he got the looks, a great smile, very nice sexy voice, he will be perfect for the job! Let Us Vote for Robert!

Sexy isn't a very descriptive word for Robert. Something more on the lines of "YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!" I think would get the idea across better.

Robert, Don't be blushing sweetie!

Robert, you are the nicest person on this website, and the owner! We all do like to say "Thank You" having a website on talking about vintage items! If it was not "YOU" we will not be here today!
