Here at work have an AEG-Telefunken S4005 500Kw SW transmitter to go with that console!On air right now.Interesting setup-guess they are selling all of their equipment!

Telefunken Microphones
That Telefunken made console stereos is news to me, as well.
Telefunken microphones are legendary in the recording industry. Although no longer produced, they still have a hot market and bring tremendous prices due to their quality and recording characteristics. The Telefunken U-47 and U-48 are considered by many to be the best microphones ever produced. (You are listening to one when you listen to Lesley Gore sing the vocals on her original release of "It's My Party.")
If the quality of their consoles is even near that of their microphones, they must be very good, indeed!

But it sure is neat looking. I agree with you tolivac... using it as multi media center, with the modern TV on top like they have it, and the vintage stereo as a stand is an awesome, non destructive, way to combine modern convenience with vintage coolness.

Telefunken is an old, established brand from Germany. We had a Koronette Diamant when I was a child.
Also in my earlier days at VOA they were trying out AEG-Telefunken RR tape machines.Worked really well! Too bad the agency decided not to keep them.Sent on trial.AEG is like GE to the Germans from what I could decipher in the info on the Telefunken transmitter.Much of its doco is in German.Parts for the rig are now unobtanium!Bought up the last stock of their parts!There are other S4005 transmitters in use besides VOA/Marti.
