A few months ago (May/June, I think), someone here posted a link to a TED Talk with Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor -- she suffered a stroke over 8 years ago and described her stroke, what she felt etc. More importantly, if I didn't know she was the stroke victim, I would not ever in a million years think she was describing herself, she made a remarkable recovery.
In any case, a couple of months ago my partner had a stroke -- we owe the fact that I could remain calm, call 911 immediately (they showed up in a couple of minutes, before he even started throwing up) and thus get him the help he needed to that video and Applianceville.
He's recovering faster than usual, and the prognosis is full recovery -- he's been going through a lot of physical, occupational and speech therapy, it's a lot of work but the outcome is more than worth it.
If you suspect that someone is having a stroke, every second counts -- call 911 immediately.
Thank you all!
