Just want to know what kind of washing machine is it? Looks like a Servis, but could be Philco/Bendix machine.

Oh no, no Servis, no Philco, no Bendix, it's a very BOL machine bought form the landlord at a retail chain named Mercatone Uno, the brand is WegaWhite, the shop brand, it's made in Italy in 2001, 5Kg of capacity, 400rpm spinning, the drum has been changed last year because it broke down, it costed 260 euros, with that exact amount I could have bought a new BOL machine but my flatmates insisted in reparing that because they didn't want to leave a new appliance to the landlord, how stupid!
The model is W400ECO.

The old drum only had 3, since it was changed I never had troubles in cleaning even stained clothes, also dried blood comes clean at 40°C, I only wash at 60°C my chitchen stuff like rags or towels. The only real drawback is the loooow spin speed.

That's a very rough wash action. It's turning the drum very violently.

Your clothes might well be rags after a few runs in there

High Suds Front Load Washer Experiment

Due to an accessibility issue in the zSHARE site, along with a security issue in my updated Internet Explorer browser, I *wasted* at least a dozen downloads before finally getting the file to come completely into my external drive without a hitch. Since I am totally blind, I could only distinguish a little bit of the actual experiment *near the beginning of the video,* as the disco beat was the dominant factor throughout the rest of the show. Otherwise, I have no doubt this was a fun test involving the higher suds detergent, and I can eventually have sighted assistance in describing what's going on here. Shark, it's not only a pity for you, I would have loved to hear the sound of the washer too instead of the music. No better music than the sound of the machine itself! Gabriele, could you post the clip again but then without the music? Looks like a violent machine indeed.

Don't Get Me Wrong!...

It's not that the music is unacceptable in itself...What you might try is to adjust the audio channels so that the music part is more of a background to the average listener while allowing for the washer demo to be more dominant. Hope this suggestion helps.--Laundry Shark

Here is the first video, the machine washing. I didn't include the filling because it's just a static thing, not interesting. At some point the machine adds more water and after a few minutes a soak cycle begins. then tumbles again then start rinsing. This video includes only the first part of the wash cycle.

The complete wool/delicates cycle lasts 50 minutes and has 4 rinses plus conditioner/final rinse. It doesn't spin except on final rinse.

The cotton (60°C) cycle is 2 hours long and has 4 rinses plus final and the machine spins everytime.

I did a very light load (just to show you... I did laundy yesterday) with only a t-shirt, some socks and briefs, a woollen pullover and a sweater I needed to wash.

Interesting machines, thank you for sharing the videos with us. It looks and sounds like the pump is very powerful and the spin isn't very noisy in contrary to the older Zanussi my grandparents had and that also spun at around 400rpm. The wash action looks pretty intensive for a delicate/wool cycle. It doesn't look very different in agitation and fill level than a regular cycle.

Do you have a dryer or do you line dry? Do you have a separate spinner perhaps?

No dryer for me, I'd simply get broke on electricity costs!
I simply air-dry in my home, just put things on the rack and get them dry a few hours later. I belive that if I had a new 1400+ rpm machine my clothes would dry in just a couple of hours.
Standard spin speed in Italy is only 400/600rpm for most BOL/MOL machines and TOL start with "only" 800/1000rpm, I bet it's because of the warmer climate.
Even the same Indesit has at best 1200rpm machines on sale here while in the UK the range goes up to 1600rpm (but lacks top loading h-axis)!!!

Merloni

This is a Merloni made machine. We have tons of those here in norway. I've also worked on lots of them! Pretty easy machines to work on. I've replaced many drums and bearingplates on them. Here they are sold as ELTO. Not the most solid machine you can get!
