The 1-18's arrived today afters spending the Winter in Portland. I bought then in November and according to the owner they have been in his cabin for the past 25 years. I'm always a little skeptical when owner say "great condition" but to my surprise they look new. Ran one load today works great. Sorry about the glare from the window.

Looks like you struck gold Rob! Are these middle of the line models? They look a little spartan from what I've seen elsewhere - but you've certainly got a nice looking set, ready to provide lots of service for the intrepid collector.

Have fun with them!

Yeah those are definitely later with the graphic and the beige color. Nice set! Congratulations. I'm sure you'll get many years of trouble free service out of these.

1-18's Model Number's and Serial Number

The model number on the washer WS-7g or 79

The serial number is 91EB-3356

The model number on the Dryer is DEC-56

The serial number is 90DC=5143

Any help with dating the beauties would be greatly appreciated

Window lid

I don't need a window lid.......I leave the lid open......you would think I was a kid again looking into our new 1955 Frigidaire.....LOL

Nice set! I thought all Crowns had a window lid. Their color is "Wheat" which is the same as previous Harvest Gold minus the darker accents on the edges.

Those are the last FRIGIDAIRE set I owned. I had them in the mid to late eighties. I saw an ad in the paper and got them from a schoolmate's cousin. She remembered me from a party we went to back in the seventies. The bearings in the washer had been worn after all the usage and I went with John L. to go meet Jon Charles. I took it along and that was the last I saw of it. I have yet to see any here in Hawaii. Kenmore, GE, and Whilpool are the high sellers here with Maytag making a comeback

The Custom sets were first introduced when KMart began carrying Frigidaire. They were similar to the Gold Crown models without the glass lids. I had numerous models throughout the eighties. Custom, Deluxe, Custom Deluxe, Elite, Imperial, and Custom Imperial. One thing I noticed regarding the Elite touch control model was the high speed agitation would not engage until the wash or rinse water was set above small load setting! My guess is that there may have been enough complaints by consumers about the splashing out of water when using the higher agitation speed on small to mini loads.???
