I just saw an episode of Leave It To Beaver where Beaver does the laundry. He uses too much soap and it overflows. What kind of machine is it? Does anyone remember? It looks like a Kenmore. I was surprised that June didn't have a matching set. Tim
I remember seeing an episode of Leave it to Beaver a few years back on one of the TV monitors at the gym, but there was no sound so I couldn't tell exactly what was happening. But I did see Beaver and his friend using a bottom of the line WS-60 Frigidaire Washer from 1960.
I am sure that you are right Robert, I saw this show a while back, can you believe that June Cleaver would have anything but the top of the line!! Terry
Uni is right - we are looking at a well-disguised BOL Frigidaire.
Hey tlee - at least the GE dryer is top-of-the-line. Having just moved into the new house, I guess there was not enough in the budget for a nice washer.
It would make sense to use another brand for a scene with suds overflowing from the washer. I doubt Hotpoint would have allowed their machine to be seen "malfunctioning" in such a way.
Hey, it was 1960 and the only female in the house was mom. Then there were the boys and Ward. Who needed anything but a basic washer to wash all those jeans, shirt, linens and such. and Frigidiare was so gentle, June could still count on her frilly things being taken well cared for. She just needed a basic washer. A fancier dryer was important.
