...Turquoise

In the printing industry we use a color library called the Pantone Matching System. It is not only used for printing but also for specifying the color of items that can include Fabric and Plastics, even makeup!

It was designed to allow a designer to have a book of swatches and be able to talk to their manufacturer (who has one too!)and not have any "surprises" between the two.

Anyhow, I digress, the color for 2010 is PMS 15-5519!

Enjoy,

Well, after 2 years of purple, colour of the year, anything is better! Even if I wanted deep emerald green, I doubt that fashion will get turquoise anyway as shop windows are still crowded with anything else but that :D

Duetboy, the TV program "Sunday Morning" once featured the Pantone color system. It was very interesting. If they do consider turquoise as an appliance color, i would not be upset. alr2903.... its time for some new color

I had heard about Pantone before. Isn't it devised by a panel of people who decide what will be the next great set of colors to be used on appliances, cars, car interiors, airplanes, airplane interiors, makeup, furniture, paints, interior finishings and clothing?

Hey, I'm in the printing industry too!

I read the same thing- though not my favorite color, it's cool. I like it in appliances, that's about it. The wedding inv books have featured it- matched with Chocolate Brown, which isn't a bad combination. I guess it's not too bad in moderation, but if I had to see a whole room of it, get me a barf bag!

My absolutely favorite color

I recently, within the past day or so,saw a comercial (don't remember what it was trying to sell) that had a current model Sears Kenmore top loading washer and matching hamper door dryer both in turquoise! The next time I see it,I'll be more observant.I went to Lapahoihoi back in November. It's a park 15 miles from here where there are jaged lava rocks up to 30 feet high along the coast there. The water is a beautiful shade of turqoise and is real foamy from hitting on to the rocks cascading down and making the action of the huge waves,up to 20 feet high,as they hit these sharp edged works of art look identical to the Westinghouse Laundromat during the wash cycle!! I stood there against a huge anchor shaped concrete slab that is used to help keep the erosion down facing out to the Pacific as the waves hit making the beach look like a massive front loading washing machine for hours!I was with my friends,Sheryl and Berrie who took me from home to celibrate my birthday.Sheryl, unbenounced to me as I was getting into a trance watching the foamy turquoise waves, took some cool photos she had developed and gave to me.They're priceless. On the way to her house,we found a real cute kitten stranded on the side of the road. She's a neat looking callico.I brought her home and named her turquoise.I'm getting her spade tomorrow. Her purr is so loud you'd sware she has a built in motor! As I lay in bed at night, she crawls onto my chest, kneeds her paws into it and curls up into a ball to go to sleep. Her tail looks like it went through a rinse cycle with too much fabric softner!Real fat and fluffy.

Commercial Publication Printer

We're a commercial publication printer and trust me, we see EVERY possible color combination around here. Some work, some do NOT! You just have to scratch your little bald head and ask yourself, what were they thinking?

Turquoise and Chocolate in moderation wouldn't be bad, I guess.

Whenever I think of moderation, all I can think of is Steel Magnolia's. "It looks like they hosed the entire sanctuary down in Pepto-bismol!"

Which is blush and which is bashful?
