Hey fellas, I know we have some tv fans here. I rescued a beautiful 1950 Zenith today that someone attempted to repair. I'm told it just needs a recap, but it's in about 100 pieces and at the moment and I only have about 93. The tubes, knobs and screws come soon. Have I bitten off more than I can chew?

Excuse the mess, I was trying to sort it all out.

Worth the Trouble!

Stuff like this is always challenging, but at least when you're through, you'll have something well worth owning. Zenith porthole TVs are sought-after and of very high quality. They're also the coolest sets of their era.

Look at the challenge this way - it's going to be less work than a lot of people go through paying for a $2500 72-inch TV bought on credit!

Eugene, that might be cool if you could pull it off inside a New Vista cabinet!

Will, if I had the expertise, I'd likely have gone after a big screen porthole set like that too.  Best of luck with sorting it all out.
