Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Ohhh Mike, a Blackstone set, how totally cool. I know you are gonna love these. And that dryer, practically new! What no video yet? ;)

I know that I've never seen one of those "convertible" washers. The 350s were very popular right through the 1960s, and even into the 1970s there were a lot still in service. I don't seem to remember many of the models from the 1960s. Does anyone out there even have some of these models in their collections?

BTW, I know where that dryer was sitting for most of the last 50 years! Along with its close cousin!

GOOD AFTERNOON, CLASSY, HANDSOME, WASHER MEN--MY GOOD FRIEND

HI ~~Jon, three B-52's flew in very close yesterday, and Artie was piloting one of them wearing Snoopy's headgear. SOOOOO, according to Ben's calculations, the washer is $2,611, and the dryer about &2,100. How long do I have before the knee breakers arrive. "You're a real riot, Alice." And I vow that the aliens won't get their anal probes anywhere near the Blackstones. Your good humor will keep you young forever. And extreme gratitude to you for a washer I have wanted since I was 5. Oh you, of boundless generosity.

Fred~~Please tell the story, and thanks for the email; I'll be in touch, regularly. Thank God we have a Blackstone Man aboard at Aworg.

OH SAM~~ my big silly hero, you didn't read, Sweetie Pie, the dryer isn't even wired yet; it's never been used. I know, you can't get away from the KA DW. Butterscotch, cream, or lilac.

Ben~~I about died with relief when I saw that all the unbelievable drenching was caused by an unseen slit. I've got this cool little mirror on a stick with a hinge that lets me spy around and behind things. Thank you so much for inspiring this story with your ancient washer scroll discoveries. You are a treasure.

Michael~~"Jetcone is on the next spaceshuttle flight as we speak, unable to comprehend the outrageousness of the situation!"--You make me laugh so hard. Wherever did you come from. Bet you were laughing on your way out of the birth canal, and when the doctor spanked you, you laughed even harder;'D;'D;'D

Geoff~~Anything for you, and remember part 2, and a movie soon. Besides, this roll of film also has the Norge-torqued Speed Queen for you and Eddy coming very shortly. Wrote the story one sunny May afternoon, and couldn't get it together. Greatly appreciate your acknowledgment.

Nice Find!

I like that design considering the vintage.
The controls are easy to use and read.

I think they had a Blackstone in the movie Mr. Mom. I am thinking it was the dryer, because the washer was westinghouse front loader. Both in Coffee or Coppertone and in the basement.

Two Blackstone dryers were sitting in our store for about 50 years, uncrated. One gas, one electric. As I was cleaning out the store a couple of years ago, I found this club, and two very willing buyers for these dryers. So these boxes were never opened until 2006. There is a thread that details the grand opening of one of these boxes, if the archives go back that far. As long as the dryers found a good home, I'm happy. Now this dryer is near to its place of manufacture--Jamestown, NY. I still am keeping a matching 350 washer and gas dryer, both of which were in daily use until two years ago. It helps when you have a repairman in the house.

I'm still cleaning out the store, since I have not found a buyer for the building. I'm trying to keep all the Blackstone parts, but that eventually will depend on how much space I have. The last of the Blackstone cabinets went to the junkyard last month; so, Ben, you got the last complete machine that I could offer.

I have a couple dozen of the 350 stainless tubs, and I don't know what to do with them. Flower planters, maybe? They are not the type of stainless that gets good money at the junkyard. They are too pretty to throw away, and too heavy to keep moving them around. Oh, well.

Fred~~~that's great. So many guys like to keep things around: "Hey it's not bothering anybody. Why throw it out?" Worked at Addressograph?Multigraph in the 70"s and nothing was ever thrown out, simply moved to an old stock floor; and every now and then, sure enough, someone wanted something very old, and we had it.

We joined at the same time, huh? It seemed like you had been around longer probably because you know more;'D The tubs are so beautiful and stay that way, can't imagine why they're not worth more.

The cold water valve sticks sometimes, so I'll soon be ordering one for purchase from you. Ben and I will have dueling Blackies. That'll be fun.

Eugene~~~Thank you, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the mechanical timer. Think of a Swiss watch, a Cuckoo Clock, a mechanical timer.

HI Eric, I love the dial; it's really, really huge. Coppertone....hmmmmm.....please don't tempt me.

Thanks, Ralph. Inspiring is the word I was looking for. When the extraction process begins, the tub raises up, as we've heard before. Not only that but the tub becomes loose, buoyant, just like the very new machines. What's so new is very old Blackstone.

Dear, dear friend from the Netherlands

How are you? Jon mentioned a while back about a possible convention in D.C. I hope you're gearing up for a transatlantic flight!!! The wonders of this machine can not be expressed in words or stills; in needs the audio and action of film or video.

THANKS FRED!!!!!!! I'll save it for afternoon tea, and I'll link it for the club, then, after errands. You are Aworg's Blackstone specialist. Thank you.
