I found it depends also on what computer I use... an older slower one gave me lower scores (and a sluggish mouse response).
I am reminded of a mailing that went out in my town about 10 years ago. It was from the city-run garbage collection agency, urging homeowner to put more kitchen waste down the disposal than into the garbage can. At the same time, we were prohibited from putting even fallen fruit from trees into the green yard waste containers.
I can only imagine the complaints that suggestion generated: waste of water, taxing the sewer system, wasting energy, etc. Seven years later, the refuse company had done a complete turn-around. Now we're urged not only to put fallen fruit from trees in the yard waste bins, but also kitchen food scraps.
I don't use the disposer all that much, but I still use my Waste King for handling stuff that is generated in the sink (like peelings, etc) or stuff that I don't want stinking up the garbage can with (like uneaten canned cat food or meat scraps). Part of this is because the drain pipe from the kitchen sink is the same one that also serves the guest bath - and once upon a time after I'd dumped a lot of old sauerkraut down the disposer, it backed up and came out in the shower stall... lol... that took a few hours and 50 feet of snake to unclog... Sauerkraut just kind of worms its way through the disposal without much change, but can become the cabbage clot from hell later on down the line.
