The electra GL2 has arrived, works well and is in gook nick, apart from needing new drum bearings, pump filter and a font panel and lid re-spray. Here are som pikkies. Soon I've fixed the pump filter we will do some vids of her in action.

The dispenser drawer.

Is it a Zanussi ...........

Rebadged for Electricity board?

Would you log the bearing removal etc as I have never changed the bearings on a machine of this design I am curious as to how easy it is to do ??

Thank you Austin

Never done it myself

Hi Austin, never done it myself, but I think there is a posting on here somewhere where the barings on a Zanussi Liberator were being changed. I have been told that these are the same machines. Sorry couldn't be anymore help.

Fantussi

What fantastic looking machine, it does look to be based on the early Zanussi which is no bad thing, it must have been fun getting up those stairs ;-)

That is a great find, and top marks for styling

I hope you enjoy it

Gary

Who'd have thought that one of those would surface!

Congratulations to Matthew and Seamus on their new old collection piece.

It looks superb, to put it mildly and a quick rub over with watered down astonish paste or the like will probably get rid of many of the blemishes.

The instruction manual cover doesnt do it justice and gives the impression of a bland, matt finish machine.
Having never seen one before, its great to see that its all a bit bling!

Brilliant machine guys and gone to a good home.

Hi Austin.

Yep - a Leccy Board rebadge, provided by Zanussi and derived from their S-series machines.

Directly based on their SL24....

of which Hotpoint also commissioned their own versions, in the form of the cold fill model 1823 'Liberator C'...

Our preserved 1826 was subjected to a full bearings replacement exercise, a couple of years ago.

A thread exists showing it being done, in all its gory detail, but I dont want to steal any of Matthew and Seamus' thunder, so will only post a link to the thread with their permission.

Roll on the vids guys!
You got yourselves a nice'un.
Paul
p.s your machine looks like its from September 1976 - a nice vintage, from a hot summer.

Ohh nice work boys, looks in good nic, those delivery men are gonna love you two up all those stairs...!!! This was the washer my Aunty Joan had after replacing her trusty English Electric Wash & Rinse wringer, thankfully she kept her Creda blue & white autopump spinner!!! The thing I always noticed was the orange dial accents and the large hose which was hooked over the sink...Enjoy..!!!
