Gratuitous plug: I just polished up this Galaxie IV, gifted from my grandmother to me this evening as she's caught me eyeing it everytime I visit : ) Santa was also nice and dropped off the Blue Heaven!

Here's Mom's gift from none other than myself...a brand-new KitchenAid Classic Plus K45! Believe it or not, this is her first KitchenAid mixer...

And here's a gift that came a day early--an Amana Radarange Touchmatic RRL-9TC, dating from September 1983! It needs a good cleaning but it's in otherwise great shape...

A GUITAR PLUG???????????

Holy cow! They used 1/4" plugs on everything back then huh? You see those on mostly music equipment now. Guitars, guitar amps and high impedance mics. I'm truly amazed.

on the other end of the thingie

A very automatic way to find out if the turkey's cooked all the way. Venus's range has the dial with the different types of meat on it (pork, beef, human, veal, deer, squirrel, possum, racoon, dog), so yours must have this dial too.

veg-o-matic: What kind of coffee machine is in the picture with GI-Joe and Hot wheels?-they show the same machine in the "Leave-It-To-Beaver" programs (first season) on DVD.It intrigues me-I don't Drink coffee, but the maker is interesting looking. they show it assembled on the counter, other times they show the lower"half" on the table while they are eating.also the chrome finish on the machine in the shows is "deadened" to prevent glare into the camera from the studio lighting.

Coffee Maker

Tolivac: The Coffee Maker is a Sunbeam Coffee Master. They came out in the 50's. My mom bought one with her Christmas bonus. The coffee maker was purchased around 1958-1959. It cost around $30.00 back then which was a lot of money. I recently got one on e-bay. They have loads of them out there. By the way, the coffee maker makes very good coffee. It is a vacummn pot, the water is heated in the bottom then rises to the top section where it brews. Then the pot switches to log, (automatically), then the coffee goes to the bottom pot and stays warm.
