Although it's made w/ CHOCOLATE syrup at the restaurant, other flavors work, too... I made one using STRAWBERRY syrup & right now, I'm hooked on CARAMEL! (In fact, that's how I usually make TWO in a row!)

And, yes, you actually make it w/ MILK, too!

Forgot to show the raw egg in the previous picture, which if you like, gets blended in... Here is my delicious milkshake:

I actually "pour part thereof", that is whatever will presumably be to my liking; not the whole bottle, in other words...

It really depends on personal preference... In fact, I originally made this w/o milk, as presumably I thought the shake I ordered at FRIDAY'S used to milk, but only to find that it tasted like a beverage Bob & Doug McKenzie would enjoy...

"Whatever amount of ingredients suits your taste & flavor tolerance" is my recommendation...

I don't have any specific measures of ingredients, unless there is anything Online (such as using a brand of beer other than GUINNESS, or something other than Stout, such as Lager or Ale)...

That's "used NO milk"--a typo-, there...

Well, not exactly the recipe I would make (Ensure???? Yuk!!!!) but nutmeg & vanilla sound good...

I wonder, though (especially as I once again have consumed yet another six-pack of Guinness Stout) about the uses of ALE, PORTER or LAGER...

Should I try a different brand?

Again, it's a thin line between what Bob & Doug McKenzie would like, but I wonder if anyone else has tried this marvelous drink? (Beauty, eh?!)

It sounds horrible to me too! I like Beer.....But beer, milk, and ice cream? I'm going to try it too though. I haven't had ice cream in FOREVER!

I don't how Stout would be the secret to longevity? Time to Google : D

The GUINNESS Beer Shake according to eHow:

While I don't have any specific ingredient measurements for my recipe (yet can still make mine taste good) here is an "official version" (and probably the one I was served) as well:

1. Take 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream and place in blender. The milkshake will blend more smoothly if you first let ice cream soften slightly. You can do this by letting ice cream sit out in room temperature for approximately 10 minutes before scooping.

2. Add to blender 12 ounces of Guinness Beer. Pour slowly to avoid producing a lot of beer foam. Use the type of Guinness Beer that you like best, whether it be Stout, Draught or other variety.

3. Put lid on blender and blend until a smooth consistency. If the shake is too watery you can add more ice cream, if it is too thick you can add more beer.

4. Pour into serving glasses. This recipe makes about two 16 ounce servings.

5. Add any garnishes you desire. Some suggestions would be topping with whipped cream and candy sprinkles.

Other options for making the Guinness Beer Shake include using chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla or adding chocolate syrup into the recipe.

Went out to get yet another 6-Pack & somehow stuck to what was familiar, and that was the Guinness Stout (just wasn't up to trying it w/ Porter, Lager or Ale and to try a "different brand" would have meant a "Miller" or "Bud" or something of that ilk so I had to 'go for what I know' or then it would have been a 'disgusting blend'!

Cheers! --And ENJOY, ENJOY!

Tried it yesterday... And Julie Andrews can help me describing the experience...

It was... WAS... WAS... UH... AH... HUM... SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS!

What other word could I have used to describe something that was really bad, awful, disgusting, terrible, nasty, horrible, etc.. without offending?

Are you sure you drink that?

For some reason i thought my garbage disposal would start talking and say "hey, throw used toilet paper in me but never throw that thing again."
The blender didn't like it too. Maybe the next time it'll start running away from me or the lid will refuse to open.
