I bought the book lastnight and I read about 2/3's of it before I went to bed. I'll probably finish it tonight. Very good so far.

Hey Verne...

I made this pie Saturday night for a cookout we had yesterday.  It was WONDERFUL!  Everyone loved it and "had" to have the recipe.  When I took my first bite of this pie I was reminded of the wonderful chocolate chess pie my Aunt Dora Lee made.  Aunt Dora Lee was my Mama's oldest sister and my "serrogate" grandmother (as I never knew my grandparents).  Aunt Dora Lee was known by our family and her church family for her chocolate and egg custard pies!  Mama said it was her Okeefe and Merit (sp?) gas range that made the difference.  Aunt Dora Lee passed away in September 1973.  I miss her still.  Thank you for sharing this recipe and helping me remember my favorite aunt!  Jim

Hi Jim. You are very welcome! I'm glad I was able to help you take a trip down memory lane and I'm glad you and everyone else liked the pie. I made it for my bff and her kids this weekend and they loved it as well. I just like that it's so simple and the outcome is just wonderful.
