Well its here! I picked it up yesterday, got it home and got it set up! After having a helluva time getting the drain hose to reach the actual drain, it was clear sailing! GE doesn't use a normal drain hose, it has a pop in type... After getting water all over the place I got it working :D The only thing I am disspointed with is that it DOES NOT have the flex care agitator, as described on Hotpoints website... it has the Gentlepower... GRRRR Oh well Its REALLY REALLY quiet and to me it seems like it spins faster than 630 rpms!

Here are some pics:

Video is coming soon!

I have a short video of the fill, main wash showing normal and gentle agitation, drain and first spin. Its currently uploading on google!

Woohoo!!! Fun machine! Two words of warning, don't let machine try and spin with water still in the tub, it'll blow it's motor fuse which requires a repair guy to come out and fix it! And second, although it is a lot of fun to do, don't open the lid while it's spinning or pull away the magnet if you're watching it, it will stop really fast and it is really really fun to see and hear, but I've heard that GE is having a lot of clutches "burn out" from repeated stopping of the tub via opening the lid during spin, it's fine to push the dial in and let it coast, but don't use the tub brake unless you really need to!

Also, you can get the one-piece agitator from repairclinic.com, I did and I LOVE using that machine with the one piece agitator!!! ENJOY!!!

That would be the Whirlpool Cabrio Dryer.

It does sound very familiar to the Oasis/Cabrio during agitation doesn't it!

So far I am really pleased with it!

Wow looking at the video it looked like there wasnt enough water...but the spin was very interesting. I didnt realize that it started off slow and then rev'd up and then rev'd up again and the stop was very fast. Very nice machine. They have a GE HydroWave washer on sale at Homo Depot on clearance...very tempting to get it.

Water Levels

Would it be possible to get a pic of the machine at each of its water levels? I am interested to see the setpoints for the individual positions. I know the range is infinite, but at each of the four positions.

Thanks
MRB

Direct Drive

The GE is belt drive! No transmission either!

It actually does a partial spin drain. I didn't have the magnet situated properly. I was playing with it some more and it neutral drains, then spins. Its pretty cool!

I will get some pics of the water levels Give me a few minutes

No brake,,,

I own a TOL GE Hydrowave, and as far as I can tell, the machine has no typical tub brake. At the end of the cycle, it just coasts to a stop, unless the lid is lifted during that time, then the motor is electrically engaged in reverse, for a quick stop. That is the electrical "whine" sound you hear in his video, when the tub stops that fast. Stoping the tub that way works fast, but I wouldn't recommend it, as I'm sure the amp draw on the motor to perform that feat is very high, and might shorten the life of the motor. If you use the machine as designed, it will never need to do that, it will just coast to a stop before the lid is ever lifted to remove clothes. I load my machine loosely with clothes, and when the max fill level is selected, there is more then enough water to cover all the clothes completely, and agitation is vigorous, with a good turn over rate. I'm very pleased with the machine so far and I've owned it for 2 years. Oh, btw, there is NO transmission in this machine, but it is belt drive, the motor reverses back and forth to create agitation.
