Congrats, Bobby in Tewksbury!
The agitator and corkscrew look identical to the Frigidaire. Could they be outsourced to the same company?

Nothing would surprise me if it was! Im thinking that I'm also going to ditch the "GentlePower" agitator and go with the Flexcare :D I would also like to put either the stainless tub or the ribbed tub, if they didn't cost so freakin much!

The SS tub cannot be found for under $200 :( and the Ribbed for $150

I agree. I cant believe that every washing machine has the same agitator. How boring!

At least in Aus, the Simpson and Fisher and Paykel have different agitator designs.

I say bring back the spiral ramp. Now that was a fun agitator!

wow its true!!! why do most washers have that same agitator? i guess its the standard now *yawn* LOL i guess i have to say although i havent looked much at washers there all the same blah blah blah there all somehow one way or the other generic and copied almost no innovation only a small few....

Speed Queen still has it's own agitator, too. Just my two cents, but Whirlpool/Kenmore DD agitators are just wrong, period! Putting clothes in the garbage disposal would be about the same.

GE really needs to push and advertise their Hydrowave a little more. It's not even noted on the machines! The only way you know is the little sticker at the store.....

Motor Controller

I like how the motor controller board is mounted directly on top of the motor.

How about a short video of agitation at the low water level so we can see all the splashy drama?

~Under the skirt. NO transmission.

Thank you! Looks like the new-technology GE top-loader I had bought a few years ago. (Mine was NOT A hydro-wave).

I don't recall my older model having the electronics just above the motor.

Hey, esteguy, how high are the water levels in that GE? I just got a GE WPRE6150HWT and even at "Super" the water level leaves 4 rows of holes, or about 4 inches dry. I can't figure out whether this is by design, or I have a defective unit. I called GE and, unsurprisingly, they were completely, completely unhelpful. The Hotpoint certainly seems to fill higher.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Now we'll have to see if we can get warantee service and have them actually fix/adjust it.

Is that GE Profile washer Energy Star? It just occurred to me that the difference in water levels we're seeing could conceivably be due to trying to get the Energy Star rating (which my washer has).

Thanks.

No its not

My model is WPRE8100G0WT, and its NOT Energy Star rated, so you may have hit upon something there. This model is no longer for sale, and the only model I see that is comparable is a 6100, that also is not ES rated. I'll be looking for that in the future. First they mess up the temperature by eliminating a full hot water wash, now they want to limit how full the tub fills. Everytime I go to Lowes there are fewer top loaders out on the floor. I guess if you don't mind paying $2000 to $3500 for a front load W/D set with pedestals, go for it. Two empty sheetmetal pedestals cost as much as a top load washer does. I'll never understand why they charge so much for those things.

The board above the motor is the interface control for the Variable speed motor.

We had a washer come back into the store that did not work.. I did the trouble shooting on it, and the board was not getting any info.

A&E Tech came out, and he couldn't figure it out as well. He end up calling GE and end up being this super small in line fuse that could not be seen!
