Help Support :

indesit5- 4.5kg drum! half the size of my shitty hoover. ignore the mould as that has been cleaned off to the best of my ability and none of it will come off onto the clothes. someone must have really not liked their machine to smell nice!!

indesit6. this broken 'kickstrip' so to speak has been fully cleaned and shoved back on and its holding up for now. if it breaks even more then it will just have to go in the bin its not the end of the world because it doesnt ruin the washers appearance at all as its white underneath too!

Don't want to come across as a party pooper but...

I must admit, seing those dials makes me feel a bit melancholic about my very first brand new dishwasher when I moved into my new place back in 2000... however, it was my worst dishwashing nightmare! Dials, buttons and the shape of the control panel were identical to this washer's... but I hope for the goodness of the user of this Indesit that the similarity amongst these appliances stops here!

I was quite enthusiastic a first of my new dishwasher, although it was already struggling to clean my cutley properly, but after a about a year its wash performance declined drastically to the point that I had to re-wash by hand at least a third of the dishwashed load! Filter cleans and maintenance washes were countless... but they would make very little change to wash performance.

It gave up the ghost after about 3 years... and now thinking back... I'm so grateful for that! I am still convinced that no manufacturer can make a dishwasher as bad as that... as I learned from using other dishwashers. Probably that was what started my entire admiration for Candy, having replaced this appliance with a Candy dishwasher that managed to restore my faith in dishwashing! I also have plenty of experience with a Zoppas-Electrolux dishwasher and some with a Bosch dishwasher and I can again praise their performance in comparison to the Indesit's.

Probably I'm just not lucky enough with Indesit products... just recently another dire experience with a 3 year old Hotpoint Indesit made dishwasher at my place of work... same story... it can't wash dishes properly (mostly mugs), having said that... it was very good when it came to wash the entire canteen floor: it just flooded the place the blasted thing!

Anyway... as the title suggests, I really don't want to spoil your enthusiasm for this machine, I just felt I needed to vent these emotions and I couldn't find any other recent Indesit related thread... so please accept my excuses if you feel I offended you in any way. I still like some of their products... I love the design of their 'Prime' range, especially the washing machine :-)

I understand where your coming from but more so if it was a direct comparison as in this being a dishwasher or you having had a washer from the same range.

I had a WG1030 when I moved in with my ex which was fine for what it was...basic. it washed and rinsed reasonabley the 1000 spin wasn't the best 1000 spin i'd used. I eventually replaced it when the timer started acting up and the tumbles became irriatic and it kept clicking off spin before it was due too.

I'm quite a fan of indesit products these days I loved the old models with controls on the left and they have improved there features and technology no end and I love my aqualtis.

However in between I have a hotpoint ultima WT960 made in the uk but the hotpoint drum matched the indesit programming namely the out of balance software did not work. it actually made the load worse and worse and could go on for the full 20minute final spin.

I had and gave my Indesit IWE7145 from the current range which spins the first time every time it balances!

I now have one of the first Aqualtis's the AQXXL129PI Which I love to pieces. I want to replace it as a treat to myself for landing a new job which sees me 5 grand better off a year. I wanted to buy another LG seeing as my ex kept my £700 LG :@ but i'm seriously considering getting the TOL Aqualtis...

Hi Darren

I was a little perplex after posting this... I thought... now maybe some1 will have a go at me for saying these things and retaliate by throwing straight back at my face some of the recent faults recently discussed with my favourite manufacturer! But I don't feel like that anymore now ;-)

As you gathered, it's just my experience with these products, and I don't have any problems with those who have a totally different view from mine. I'm willing to accept the possibility that my experiences are just coincidences bordering spookiness... but the list could go on!

Another determining experience that sure helped shaping my opinion of Indesit is with a washer-dryer bought (WIDL series) in 2005 for my holiday place... albeit its infrequent use, it required a new PCB last year, after only a couple of months of normal family use (I swapped it with my mum's washer as I wished to preserve her 23 year old washer). And just a few weeks ago, I was gobsmacked to hear that it now requires a new phorthole door as the glass cracked.

I'm willing to believe I might not have another similar experience with their recent range... but once bitten, twice shy. After all... I was so keen on Ariston's products once which was also them... but now they've even done away with that name! Anyway... talk about cutting off my nose to spite my face... I've done it with my Hotpoint cooker... and... so far, so good :-)

PS: I have a small curiosity about Hotpoint and their absorpion by the Indesit Company: I am sure we can all see even from their website the official date when they blended with Indesit/Ariston... but can anyone tell me whether they were in any kind of partnership already many years before this event?

Oh don't get me wrong I hated my Hotpoint WT960 enough that I said never again would I buy an indesit product. Disappointingly as I loved the wash tumbles and water levels.

It wasn't until my best friends mum bought the silver version of my IWE7145 and I saw it on and watched it spin 1st time everytime on every spin that I decided to give them another shot and happened to find the same model in white with broken paddles on ebay.

I formed the same opinion of zanussi sadly. Zanussi/electrolux have always been one of my fav brands we had an electrolux made AEG 72740 1400 machine with jetsystem which was absolutely brilliant and basically a zanussi XC jetsystem with a new face. It gave 8years service after heavy use. I replaced it with my zanussi essential which i bought new in 2008 which was a real let down in terms of cheapened down quality. No progress indicators, it static filled and rinsed in hardly any water and it frustrated me. Then there have been a zillion on ebay on the 2year mark with either knackered PCB's or bearing failure. Then theres a chap on youtube not sure if he's on here where his machine may as well exploded the drum shot around the cabinet and wrote the machine off. I won't buy another.

So I can see where your coming from.

People also slated LG on here and I got an LG F1402FDS6 black steam washer in feb 2010 which my ex still has and I couldn't fault it. Hence Im considering buying another.

Though I do think certain brands make certain appliances better than others. Like I think beko make good fridges..providing they don't catch fire! But until recently I didn't rate the laundry purely based on the number of service calls I had to arrange for customers! But i've seen an improvement and love the look of there current range so my opinion is swayed!
