So i've seen this washer dryer around under plenty of names. Can't quite pinpoint who's design it is.

I think it's a nice looking machine. I'm a sucker for a push button door release!

I've seen this machine under, bosch, siemens, smeg & whirlpool. Can anyone shed light on it for me?

If it's the version with SS tub and drum it is made in Italy by SMEG, if it's the plastic tub version I don't know.

I've searched on the net and according to www.arredatutto.it a retailer of integrated and design appliances, also the new model with plastic tub are made in Italy by SMEG, but I can't personally confirm it as I've never seen one in person.

Anyway I also attached a picture of the Whirlpool version!

Definately not a hoover-candy.

Heres another pic. This time the freestanding bosch version. it also appeared under neff to so I'm pretty sure it's a bosch. the drum is very similar to my bosch WFF2000 but the plastic paddles are steeper.

Oh, that stainless steel machine is my dream!

It has a 5 kg capacity (anything over that is exageration)
1600 rpm spinning
good rinsing
the body is all stainless steel
the tub and rum are both stainless steel too!

And the styling is gorgeous!

Not made by Smeg...

The machine we are talking about are all made by BSH..
This is a 100% Smeg free standing washer-dryer made in Italy... also the newest Whirlpool washer-dryers are made by Smeg too, however Bosch and Siemens are made by their own.
Here are pictures of Smeg washer-dryer, made by Smeg:

nrones...

That smeg above is very similar to the latest set of built in washer dryers of bosch, siemens and whirlpool. On youtube someone went to currys and made videos on all the new washers. A built in whirlpool awz612 had exactly the same drum as the smeg above. Also the smegs display is very similar to the latest built in washer dryers of bosch and siemens so it seems you've found another piece of the jigsaw. I sigh of relief as i thought after i heard that boschs air condensing washer dryer was made by vestel/little swan (i got grey hair reading that thread!) I also thought their new built in washer dryers would follow suit. I'm relieved they're by smeg they seem to be high quality.

Hello guys,

I would say just one thing. On the machines above I see one peculiarity.
The drum.
If you look closely, the inside of the drum is a BSH drum. One of the old version, but definitely a BSH drum. My grandmother have a Siemens from 1991 and the drum is like this.

If it is made by smeg maybe could be that they use the same drum.

You got to love SMEG!

I sent an email to them this morning at 8:49 and they answered at 9:23 solving all my doubts:

SMEG washer-dryers are made in Bonferraro in the province of Verona in Italy, so definitely those are all SMEG products. I'm so glad!

Here's the return e-mail:

In merito alla Sua gradita e.mail Le confermiamo che la ns.lavasciuga viene prodotta nel ns.stabilimento del lavaggio che si trova a Bonferraro in provincia di Verona.

Ciao Gabriele :)

Thank you for your answer. I'm happy for you, because I know you like smeg products. It is a pity that thay are so hard to find, even in some regions in Italy. When I visited some big appliance stores in the North of Italy I haven't seen much smeg appliances.

Well, don't get me wrong, I don't doubt in what you have told us now, but I am a bit curious why the drums are so similar to the BSH ones.
I will made a picture of my grandma's siemens drum amd post it. Maybe you could solve even this "enigma".

Grazie Gabriele

Ingemar

same as this one

you can see that the paddles on the old Siemens are a bit damaged end deformed, but you can see that the shape of the drum is the same

Design - not where they're made.

Well, when I posted this post I was actually talking about 100% Smeg designed washing machine.

There is a LOT of washing machines are sold under this brand name , however there are ones not designed and completely made by other company (like those Silver washer-dryers from bsh, I've seen other Smeg's made by Vestel, Beko, Gorenje), there are a 100% SMEG.

Ofcourse, that doesn't exclude an option that both BSH-designed Smeg washer dryer, and Smeg designed Smeg washer dryer are both produced in Italy, place that Gabriele wrote! :)
