Life is good!

I love meeting all the Interesting people when I go to pick up a machine Phillygirl and her Significant other were some really nice people who obviously are concerned about preserving the past which I think is totally COOL In this case I do however believe a certain part of my anatomy is lower to the ground after loading this..but Hey...it's worth It..Thanks again Phillygirl

I remember those.

My Dad and I bought a set of Westy Front Loaders in 1971. The washer had the "Weigh to Save" Door. I can remember dimes(as in change) use to get constantly caught in the drain pump if you didn't check your pockets. The dryer was classified as a "High Speed Dryer" Used to bake the crap out of your clothes. I had the top off the washer and I don't really remember the concrete. Although the concrete must have been an afterthought as the washer off balance would take the dryer with it right into the conga line.

Electric Dryer

I thought the same thing when I saw the door on the front but that is used as an access panel to bolt the washer and dryer together

I had one of those washing machines as recently as
2003. I loved it ; one direction, and water level too.
I could kick myself for letting it get away. I think it
washed better than any machine I have ever used.
Hope you file a performance report!!!

Glad you are enjoying your new addition. Hope you like it as much as I did, the Spacemates were a wonderful machine to use for a quarter of a century. My whole family has gotten a real kick out of the idea that someone really wanted my old washer and dryer. They all think it is quite something that there is a community of people that collects and restores these old machines. Happy washing!
