Actually, if the car is 12 years old and has 200,000 miles, that's about 16,600 miles per year. Certainly not excessive. What puzzles me is when you come across used cars that are a year or two old and they already have 40 or 50,000 miles. Can't even imagine driving that much.
Sure glad it has been so wonderful and reliable for you!! Enjoy the next 200,000 miles. Does the car itself still look pretty good?
My '99 has 56,000 miles on it, and still looks like new. It too is a very reliable car. I'll drive it at least until I'm 50, I think, another 6 years, then we'll assess. Maybe I'll buy myself a 50th birthday present, or maybe we'll push it to 55. We'll just see, LOL. It's hard to even know what I'd get, but most likely it would be a 3-series BMW.
My sister told me the other day that my Dad's 1988 Ford F-150 truck has 66,000 miles on it, and that the there are still stickers from the factory on the radio, LOL. That replaced a 1973 Ford truck that he drove back and forth to work when he worked. That one had finally rusted through to the point where you could see outside by the floorboards, LOL. He pretty much drives his 2004 Camry now, since it's easier on gas and for him to handle. They only used the later truck occasionally as needed, since they'd often go someplace together in the car.
