Whoa!!!

Now it's time for me to remove my foot from my mouth!!

I don't quite understand why Maytag had both the 700 and 702 available in 64 and 65. Doesn't make a whole lot of business sense in my opinion.

The ad says the Maytag A702 even adds new detergent after it automatically advances into the regular wash cycle after the prewash and soak. Huh? How did it add new detergent?

My guess is - you put soap in the pre-wash load; and liquid in the dispenser. When it spins out the water from the pre-wash, the liquid then settles for the regular wash. Sounds more of a gimmick than reality if you ask me!

Detergent.

I believe that if you put liquid (yuk!) detergent into the fabric softener cup it would dispense the detergent into the main wash after the prewash, provided there was a spin between them. Doing this would not, however, allow you to have fabric softener automatically dispensed.
