I don't EVER recall seeing a Whirlpool dryer with the plug-door drop down style like that, WP used the side-swing version. I had to do a double-take to make sure that wasn't a Kenmore dryer.

Near BOL-BOL Whirlpool units from 1988-1993ish used them bob..

This set seems to be a MOL rather than a BOL set.
The TOL Whirlpool Electronic Dryer we have has the same style drop down door and top filter as this set does, except our door is much wider than the one on this set. I would guess these machines are from 1991-1994 or thereabouts.
I guess the seller never knew that RCA had sold off Whirlpool years earlier! I wonder where they got that from as nowhere on the machine is the RCA name present.
I think this would make a good set for someone who was looking for a very reliable washer/dryer.

RCA Never Owned Any Part of Whirlpool
Whirlpool came from the 1900 Corporation.
RCA Victor had a plant which made "Estate" stoves, a/c's and vacuum cleaners,(Mr. Oreck of Oreck vacuums engineered & designed all RCA & RCA Whirlpool vacuum cleaners).
In the late 1950's RCA Victor decided to get out of the appliance business, and Whirlpool was very much interested in the patents and designs of RCA Victor.
SO... they entered into a limited year license agreement that would market Whirlpool appliances using the "RCA" trademark. Thus blending the two lines into one, after which Whirlpool would be the sole owner and RCA Victor would be out of the appliance business.
RCA never owned any part of Whirlpool (1900 Corporation). In Canada during the same period Whirlpool sold "Victor" appliances under the same agreement.
I believe a new issue popped up in the 1986' when GE bought RCA and started using the RCA name on GE appliances. I believe that part of their sales tactic was to regain market share that GE had lost to Whirlpool. By using; remember those old "RCA" appliances they were great!, but the new ones were trash. A couple years after this the RCA name was dropped from the GE lineup.

I have told me from about 1956 thru 1966, about a 10 year agreement.
That's why Whirlpool has the "Estate" name still today. Same as the own the "Roper" name they got when they bought Roper Stoves, one of the first makers of stoves in the U.S.

I remember first seeing "RCA" Whirlpool appliances sometime around 1957, and they deleted the "RCA" about 1967, so that's the time frame drewz suggested...but I remember seeing "Estate" appliances at Sam's Club circa 1990, so that must have been when Whirly started using that name again.
That corny line I used for my subject drift came from maybe the one and only print ad I ever saw for RCA appliances when GE introduced the line, also about 1990. I thought for a while that RCA was going to replace Hotpoint as GE's second-string line of appliances...but then again, didn't Hotpoint make a TV set somewhere in the mid '50's? Go figure...
