Curious- if we could make the best washer today.
What would you use? I believe most parts are similar to one another they could be re engineered to make the best washer today.

First I would choose a whirlpool DD basket- I believe it’s bigger than Maytag.
use a kitchen aid lower fin and kenmore upper triple action agitator.
I would use a maytag dependable tranny and a brushless motor from one of the old whirlpool duet.
I chose the Maytag tranny because I think it would be easier to control the strokes and speed of the agitator and I would think I could achieve higher Rpms in a maytag than a whirlpool tranny.
I would also use a maytag suspension system- they have always had a smooth spin.
I’m at a lost for a timer- maybe switch over to a computer base?

I’m up for debate of what you guys would think would make the best machines.
Ps. Could anyone build one?!

John (combo52),
I know from reading your past posts you think very highly of the the Speed Queen Front Loaders.

I also know you've seen hundreds of Washers over the years-

In your opinion what makes the SQ FL the best Washers out there?

I like it as well but want to hear an experts opinion verses what is out there.

Thanks,
Jeff

From the list he provided, Tom appears to be inquiring about top loaders, not front loaders.

With a few exceptions, it sounds feasible, as Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid and Maytag are all basically the same machines.

Well, about top loaders.... a giant magic chef would be awesome...

I's my competitor, but i love it (my boss hates when I say that)

I remember about 2 years ago, Martin telling me to buy one because it was impressively good.

Indeed, that washer really surprised me with the wash performance. i love that little washer with all my heart (forget the normal cycle exists), i just wish it was 3x bigger

And also it is nearly 2 years old and works like a charm, even after moving from Dallas to L.A. almost upside down on the back seat/trunk or a Honda Fit.

As soon as I can I'll buy the 2.2 cu ft model, but I'd really love to see a 4.0 cu ft reaching the market.
