Louisville, milnor, bay item number 230029929062, if of interest can someone flip up the link? starts at 99 cents. he also has a flatwork ironer for .99cents. Does not Mention if either one works.

Think one usually will find persons selling industrial laundry equipment far from urban areas basically just want someone to take the stuff away. In the case of the ironer in the above auction, that is simply not a matter of removing something and putting it out on the curb. It must be unbolted from concrete flooring, then taken apart. Even then it must go somewhere, either to a new home or (god forbid) county dump.

So many large laundries, laundromats, commercial laundries are either closing or being bought out, there simply isn't a market for all the goods.

Well, for the price, I might not be able to pass this up! I have always dreamed of being able to have my very own Milnor when I get my own house! Mom has always dreamed of never using the "germy, icky, disgusting, slimy, and expensive" machines at the laundromat. I've only two problems now, whether or not it's 3 phase, which I am told by my uncle, an electrician, is very possible to convert to 1 phase with proper knowledge and whether I'll fly or drive down and drive back with it! Plus, seeing as how the is a deadline for picking it up, I am betting that the seller is in a time crunch to empty out some kind of drycleaner or laundry which would also explain the low price! Even if it was broken, that is fixable. It might not be soon, but someday it can be fixed!!!!!

Am almost certian you will need 208V or 220V three phase power, but you can call the man to find out. Information will be listed on the machine somewhere.

Can understand you wanting a Milnor, but 55lbs? How much laundry does your mother have? *LOL* You could always take in washing! *LOLx2*

30022M5J

MILNOR Modle numbers will help you do the math. 30022 means 30" diameter x 22" depth cylinder size. That's 9.0 cubic feet and that's not IEC ot whatever they use now to justify capacity in home front loaders. That's two cubic feet more than the largest home dryer capacity.

The 30022M5J was produced for many years and is an awesome machine. Yes, you will need 208-240/60/3 phase electric and an open drain trench capable of holding 19 gallons of water when the machine dumps from a high water level. And a good 8 inches of concrete, to anchor, grout and bolt the machine to the floor.

The M5J is still a 2 motor, 2 clutch, jackshaft machine...feared by many who don't understand it and reveared by those who do...you cannot kill it. It will last 25 years under heavy use and forever under nominal use. With it's EP PLUS controler, you can pretty much make the machine do anything you want it to 30 times over.

a trench helps but not a must

you can have a sheet metal place build you a above ground trough and drain it in to a reg drain or put a sump pump in it and pump it out find out how hi off the floor the drain is on the machine and have the trough wall 1/2 inch less . Also a phase converter can be purchased and it will create the 3 rd phase for the electric. From single 208 or 220... These are are some of the best machines ever made. If I were closer I would go for it in a heartbeat .

Launderess

"Feared" meaning mechanics and commercial service techs. that are unfamiliar with working on a Milnor multi motor, multi clutch machine are sometimes intimidated by working on one.

And it's really pretty simple once you know how it works. Somewhere not too long ago I posted the basic workings of how the motors and clutches worked together to achieve 4 speeds.
