Hi Darren,
Thanks for your reply!
I agree, they really are no nonsense machines and it's clear why Hotpoint stuck with this design for the next 30 years. It was actually Mike's pictures of your 1450 that inspired me to look out for one of these since I started collecting several years ago. I'm thrilled to have one of my own now at the ripe age of 20.
I will try and get some good pictures of it tomorrow once I'm done polishing depending on whether this storm passes. I may even get a chance to try it out and a video is on the agenda too.
I would most welcome a scanned copy of your service manual especially if it's an older and more comprehensive version than my 1999 PDF version which focuses mainly on the 9404 and 9414. If you have a 1450 user manual I'd be very happy to have a scanned copy of that too just to complete my machine. My email address is on my profile.
I just need to find a 'box end' fill/drain hose as the original one was as hard as a bone. I've actually stuck a bid on that lovely 1400 that's on eBay at the moment. It would be a nice way to end 2015 if I won that and it would round off my Supermatic collection very nicely unless a 1469 turned up which they often do.
Regards,
James
