50's RCA Whirlpool dryer! Now here is one of the dilemmas of this yard. There is a lot of neat good stuff, but a LOT of it is land locked. Items are in the middle of piles, in stacks, etc. Rich and I dug some things out, but items like this dryer take a great deal of work just digging out to take home. Its also the reason why you need at least a couple of guys to scour a yard with, one person just cant get this stuff by himself! Rich and I will be bringing a couple of our buddies with us on our next trip!

I was so hoping this was the bouncing basket style washer. Alas it was not. It does have a fiberglass tub.....the agitator was missing from it.......

Tipped it back so I could see its works, this washer has been here a long time.......This is one of the washers that was a difficult excavation. Even tho its pretty rough, this will be one of the dig outs on our next trip......I dont think its going anywhere soon!

Another rare, early car. Its a Kaiser, I think about a 1951 model. This is a good example of yard rust. Most if not all of this car is wasted by the iron tinworm, except for the stainless which is perfect!

Perhaps this Hoover portable has heard the recent news of the terrible fate of its company, and is turning in its grave.....it seemed to stop on its side here........

Another nice find, that will need digging out, is a Maytag 606S (I think) with glass panels. Has a suds saver and appears complete, but its got bathtubs stacked on it! Maybe on the next trip...........?

Jimmy,

Thanks for posting all the great pics. I'm glad the weather cooperated. It's just too bad that due to unforeseen problems we hadn't been there since mid 2004. Just imagine what he crushed last year. And thanks for NOT taking a pic of his crusher.

I still can't get Joe to understand that we want ANY old washer no matter what the brand is. I'm still sick from hearing about the fate of those Philcos. He seems to only remember to save Frigidaire. But now that we're back into the swing of things, I'll call him every month to see what he's put aside.

Rich

Oh Jimmy and Rich. Can I come be your camera man on your next visit. Promise, I won't fall in the mud!!!!

Jimmy, this had to be much better than the SMELLY Philco find.
