I've never seen one in real life. I believe they're only sold through a distributor at demonstration events and home shows etc much like the Electrolux Assistent and Bosch Universals.

My sister bought one in Montreal last year. It was sold in a store. I couldn't believe someone would need one at the price they were asking for! I think she paid $1800 Can for it! (I was in the store with her, I think it was on St-Laurent street) I haven't seen it working but I guess it's a bit less noisy than my Ronson Cook'N Stir!

Wanted to see a Thermomix machine and its demo--2 yrs and STILL waiting-or is it that I gave up on them. Was thinking of buying the Cusinart "Cook&Stir" blender instead. The Thermomix sounds like an interesting machine-Think they need to improve the distribution and sales on it.The idea of the demo is good-you can better demo the machine in someones home than at a store.-like the idea of DTD vacuum cleaner sales.

to all...

Yes...the thermomix is sold on fairs and on home presantation. But why? First: i agree that DTD sales must be improved in USA. Its not fair that such a good appliance is rare in that country. And why we cant put it in the store is becaouse TM is not just a blender, and cant be compared with it. Even not with Cuisinart blender that also heat, becaouse TM have speed control from 100 rpm-12000 rpm...and stir function about 40-50 rpm. Which blender can do this? And on the pictures under the text you can see the blender knive and jar and the tm knife and jar. The tm knife is created very specificaly... that it can mix,chop,grind,pulverise,puree,whip,knead,stir... and the knife is put into the jar that all the food come to to the rotating knife as soon as possible and evenly. I cant imagine choping the onion with classic blender.Or kneading a heavy dough. And the point is that he can do soooooo many things tha t we cant just put all the instruction in one users manual and say: this is it, now use it! Its impossible. Thats why i show to the owners some extras...tips, tricks. Becaouse the more they know about their tm, the more they will use it and with more happiness.

Just for information... I became TM teacher just becaouse of joy cooking with him. Before that i was just one of the thousands of owners ;-) but i was experimenting and try everything what i can ;-)
And i dont know anymore the words : burn,overcook,watery,tastless...

And about the price... Vorwerk is known for many years as high quality brand that produce vaccum cleaners, thermomixes, carpets and kitchens. And ofcourse they are known by the very high price. But i can personaly say that everything what we have from VW works as new... The vaccum is more than 25 years old... no service...
And every customer that have something form VW say that its really expensive but worth every cent thrue the years of use. And i cant forget the old lady, when she say: Once a vorwerk, always a vorwerk.

Have fun quys! ;-)

I guess it depends of which blenders. Ronson blenders have very wide jars at the base and the heating models also have a stir feature. Of course no fancy digital scale and certainly not as good overall (and quite noisy!) but at least, you can get these for cheap!

I haven't made a video of mine but I know someone else did!

And since he hasn't posted it in this thread yet, I'll do it!
;-)

;)

This Ronson look quite interesting ;) whats the power of the motor? Can you make a dough in it? i know that in tm 21 is 600w and in tm 31 500w ;) but they both have a dough program... special cycle with different way of rotating (left&right)and thats simulate hand kneading ;) and prevents the motor of burning.

The TM21 is not that loud like Ronson but he have self cooling fan inside... and this fan make anyoning sound :/ Thats why the TM 31 is more quiet ;) it not have a fan inside...

On the video you can hear the cooling fan...

I can't tell you the wattage of the motor on the Ronson blender. It just says 10 amps (that should include the heater). The instruction manual/cookbook say the motor is 1/3 hp.

And it stirs in just one direction...
