Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Time for Carnac the Appliance Repairman...

The washer is most likely a A23CA or A24CA while the dryer looks like a DG/DE26CA. These were units designed for commercial laundry rooms or for use in Care/assist. living homes where coin-op style laundry (with very little in the way of confusing control options) were needed without the use of coins. Age I would guess around the early to mid 80's. More common than you'd think but not aimed at your average domestic market. Maytag really tried to fill in all the niches back then...

The washer (and dryer) must be a 1980s style Helical Drive machine. Interesting how it is set up to look like it should be operated by coins, but has the cycle dial and knob like a residential washer. I agree with RedCarpetDrew in that I would think these were geared toward assisted living centers where they would see the use of a typical laundromat washer and dryer without requiring the residents to fork over coins.

Have a good one,
James
