@revvinkevin.....

So..... how did the visit go???

Congratulations on a very good deed

Love the wall mounted cutoffs. Have seen those in magazine pictures of fancy laundry rooms. Is the little green lantern yours or theirs?

If people had tongues like Lovepuppy, would there be a market for Kleenex?

Yay, Kevin! How nice of you to fix this for Natalie and Paje! They look just as eternally grateful for your help and expertise as we are. You helped save another gem from a very premature death. Congratulations!

Actually I want to clarify.....

..."Lovepuppy's" real name is "Pebbles" (should've said that in the first post). But she is the real owner of the WP Mark 18 set! ;-)

Also, after seeing photos of Roberts basement, both Natalie and her husband want to find vintage detergent boxes, ads, posters and other "stuff" to decorate their laundry room!

If anyone has any suggestions for them, OR some extra "stuff" you'd be willing to sell, contact Natalie (Lovepuppy) via e-mail.

Kevin

OK, so I have a question for you Mr. Kevin....

I see you in the ever-familiar pose that I've been in a hundred times where the machine is pivoted forward and I'm working on access to the machine from underneath. There's Paje leaning over the machine, "supervising".

My question - who or what is holding the machine from falling forward, etc? You didn't leave little Natalie to hold it now did you?

Gordon

If this were a contest...

I would have to say, without a doubt, this has been my favorite post on this website. I applaud those who went out on a housecall to save a couple of machines from certain death because of a couple of simple fixes. I applaud the wonderful owners of these machines for having the courage to keep these machines and allow a couple of strangers into their home to get them fully functioning again.

I really feel like that is the best direction for this group. Not only are we here because we love these vintage machines and the quality at which they were made, but also foster that love into others who may not have thought otherwise. Rather than scramble to try and selfishly obtain these beauties for ourselves, we were able to leave them right where they should be in the hands of very good care and appreciation.

This could be a made-for-TV movie because the ending is perfect...or rather a new beginning?

Welcome to the club Natalie, Paje, Pebbles, and Bam Bam!!!

Jon

Thanks everyone!

It was a very enjoyable day because Natalie, Paje, Pebbles and Bam Bam were very enthusiastic about my being there and especially the entire disassembly - repair - reassembly process.

Tom: I forgot to answer your question about the little green lantern. It belongs to them and I couldn't get over how cute it was... and it supplied a good amount of light too!

Gordon: LOL. No, she couldn't hold the washer AND take the photo at the same time! If you look at that photo again you'll see the water inlet hoses are nice and taught, well that's what was holding the washer! No I'm kidding! Actually cute little Pebbles was holding the washer! No, it reality Paje was holding it in place even though he's just looking very "posed".

Look at that evil grin....Kevin you are a HAM.......but great work....love it when it all comes together and works, and what a beautiful set, never knew they had lighting like that for a whirlpool, at least it lites the controls, but wish it was like the side swing lid of a Kenmore, then it helps to see inside, well you can't have everthing.....

One question: Wouldn't a Double Duty Surgilator with the base wings fit in that machine?....it would definately kick up the wash action, someone here has to have one laying around...

Martin....I AM SUCH A HAM?? HA! Go back to that same photo and look at Paje... now HE is a ham!

Right Natalie?

Ducks and runs...........

Kevin, so glad you got the washer repaired for these nice people. Looks like you all had a good time, and made some new friends too!

Mr. Fixit to the rescue!

So, Kevin, I'm curious. What kind of warranty did you offer on the repair? It wasn't your usual 'tail light' warranty, was it?

Ducks and runs...
