This seems just a tad ridiculous...

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Wow, when you said that I almost thought this was Phyllis Diller's machine!

That gold plating is sure an eye-catcher...and the BIN price isn't too bad considering what it is!

Special Editions

These were usually made as awards for high-volume sales people. I didn't realize that they made these into the G Series. Gold-plated indeed. Stan Kann, a well-known collector had a gold-plated Kirby Dual 50 (circa 1965) that was the property of none other than Phyllis Diller. I saw a picture of her and the machine at the Kirby Company in Van Nuys CA. They gave it to her around the time of the "Pruitts of South Hampton." Boy, I date myself. I have seen a number of these gold-plated editions from various times.

There have been others sold on ebay

In the past 5 years I remember a gold plated Tradition, as well as a Heritage II.
I am sure there will be more...

Gold plated indeed!

Maybe I should bid on it and remove the gold to I can use it on my teeth in my old age. (No wise cracks from Ida please!)

Gold teeth baby!

Perhaps it could be ghetto/ethnic but ghetto fabulous. My father was running a gold mine out of his mouth by the time he died. He thought gold was better than porcelin caps or veneers.

Gold on a Kiby might be considered ghetto/ethnic too! I refer to my 1965 Olds 98 as a "ghetto cruiser"!

Think I'll now go put on Elvis singing, "In The Ghetto."
