Was washing my kitchen floor with my Hoover Spinscrub 800 and it was having a hard time vacing up water. Got frustrated removed the pickup tank no issues there.  While replacing it  I noticed the hose that  feeds the tank had a large hole in it.  Looked for a replacement hose, NLA.

Hose looks to be 1" diameter and looks like picture below. It's about 10" long.  Any ideas what I could use in it's place?

The hose to our Hoover Constellation got a hole in it about 10 years ago. I wrapped silver Duct Tape around it tightly, about 2 layers and its been good to go ever since I made the repair. And the suction didn’t suffer at all. Since the hose is a silver grey the Duck Tape hardly shows at all. A quick, easy and inexpensive fix.

Matt...

At least two years ago I used Flexseal tape on a hose on my
Easy Spindrier. The drain hose on the spinner is very specialized and
not easily replaced by other means.

So far it's still holding. I would give it a try, nothing to lose.

I used a product called magic wrap on a tub to pump hose that had cracked on a wringer washer. Its a type of poly butyl plumbing repair tape. It doesn't have any adhesive, it sort of "melts" into itself during successive wraps due to the tension. Pretty amazing stuff. Its held up for several years with no leaks. Its black though so you would definitely notice it on a white/clear hose, not sure if it comes in other colors.

The washer hose likely is more rigid than the hose on your floor cleaner so not sure if it would still work. I've never tried the flex seal tape but it may be a similar concept

Well after checking out Flex seal tape -$15 for 10' - I think I'll try Eddies suggestion. I have white duct tape, plus the hose is really not visible, so the tape should work well.  I may wrap the break with a thin strip of Saran just to keep the water off the duct tape, but with the wet vac there should not be too much water exposure.

Had been thinking about replacing the Hoover with a Bissel, have a relative that works there can get a good price, but the cleaning area of the Bissel is about 30% less than my current Hoover, kind of a downgrade.  My brother has one and he likes it, when the next thing on the Hoover gives out I do have a option.
