Boy life just keeps you guessing day to day. 3 years ago this past Monday I lost my father to cancer. In the past 6 months I have lost 2 aunts and 1 uncle. I have one aunt left in Santa Barbara,CA. Now she is missing. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers that she is found. Thanks to my AW family for support during these trying times.
Jon

Sorry I could not make this an active link. My brain is a little fried right now.

I know the feeling.

My immediate family is the primary caregiver(s) for my maternal grandparents. It has been a bit of a battle because they need so much more help than they are willing to accept. It has resulted in some trips to the hospital and lots of time and hard feelings.

I hope your aunt is found in good condition and quickly. I also hope that in the future she can be convinced to accept some assistance from family and friends.

I can't answer your thoughts and prayers myself but I hope they are answered,
Dave

Prayers, prayers and more prayers ....

I hope that your aunt if found soon!

Take care and please keep us posted.

Update on missing aunt

Well the search has been called off and they are now doing helicopter flyovers along the coast. I think that she must have fell off the cliff feeding the birds and into the ocean. Has been well over a week and no sign. She is in Gods hands now. A strange thing happened here last Wed. I have 3 cockerspaniels. We were sitting in the kitchen and 2 of them were laying on the floor the other under the table near my feet. I said to my wife look at the 2 on the floor. They were looking up at the ceiling. Then the 3rd came out from under the table looked up and started barking. All of you with dogs know there are different barks for different things. They were barking like someone is here, someone is here. All 3 went mental barking nonstop looking at the ceiling. I could not calm them down for 5 minutes. Then they just kept looking at the ceiling. I am sure it was my aunt passing through to say I am on my way over to the other side. Then a pill bottle was sitting in the middle of the counter and it just flipped over on its side while we were looking in that direction. So I guess it is over for now. My attorney in CA said not to go into the house until this is over. I called the neighbor and the sheriffs department. They went over yesterday to empty the refig and get rid of any fruit and stuff left out. Strange happenings but I feel she is back with the rest of the family in heaven. Meanwhile all my cousins are getting together for a family party this saturday and we shall raise a glass and toast to all who have gone before us. Not the outcome I was hoping for but nothing ever goes as planned. Thanks to all of you and your thoughts and prayers during this hard time. This is the best group in the world. Love you all.

Her cat?

Is someone caring for her cat?

My grandmother, who was in quite good health, had an "episode" and was incapacitated in her home for 2 days before her brother came to visit from out of state and found her on the floor. The ambulance was called and she was rushed to the hospital where they were able to keep her alive long enough for family to come out and say our good byes.

My grandmother had a cat which was very shy. The paramedics left the door open and there was a great deal of commotion. We thought the cat bolted from the house in a fit of terror. Fortunately, we found him hiding deep in a closet several days later, scared out of his fuzzy little mind. Someone did adopt the cat and he is now in a good home and out of the closet.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, but please don't forget the cat as you close the house.

Jon, it may very well be that you and your dogs solved this case before the police or coast guard. It sounds like your Aunt had a wonderful life, living on what I consider the west coast's Riviera and enjoying all that it had to offer.

Your link to the KSBY story doesn't work. Perhaps they'll carry this story on sister station KSBW out of Salinas/Monterey, which I can pick up here at home.

My condolences to you and your family, but what a great thing to have her pass through your place on her victory lap. That's something you'll never forget.

Ralph

I've lost my family, too.

I am praying for the safe return of you Aunt. If you need to talk to someone, please feel free to call 253-572-1263. If I can help and talk, I will!
