Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Bob, I think the thing with this Republican Senator Craig being a hot topic for us is that he VOTES and MAKES LAWS in this country that affect us all, and his(alleged) behaviour is beyond hypocritical to his spoken politics.

George Michael's behavior does not affect gay people except for maybe publicity.

Bill Clinton never came out against oral sex,or supported legislation that banned it.

Senator Craig came out against everything gay publicly.

Sorry if not enough people liked your bundt cakes, but a lot of us can seperate good food from good political discussion.

Oh the tape is a riot. Its all over CNN and MSNBC tonight...cant imagine what Bill Maher will have to say on Friday on his show on HBO. If you listen to the tape Craig seems to me trying to lie is way thru and thinking of how to do it as he goes on. I wonder how many times this guy has gone and done this but this time he got caught.
On another note though...notice how something like this comes up and takes the heat away from the war in Iraq and the Gonzales mess. Our attention span seems to be nil when it comes to the important things. But give the public something they can go tsk tsk to and it get some mileage out of it. I cant even imagine what his wife is thinking. She ought to get herself checked to make sure she doesnt have anything "exotic" going on with her gooch ...n'est pas,.

Talk about the tape, did anyone here just see Larry King? Larry had on purple almost pink tie and suspenders. He had Dr. Drew and some of the Republican people on too. Then the next half is going to all about "Dancing with the Stars". Anyone notice that whenever Larry has a gay issue on his show (and he often does) he gets kind of uptight?

My "gayness does not define me....but,

I believe it is a big part of me. Thankfully, like Robert, I was raised in a very blue state with a very liberal mother.

I came out at 20 while in college and considering it was 1988, my family was very supportive. My Dad took several years to warm up to it but he is very accepting now. My entire family knows I am gay, my collegues at work know I am gay. It just always seemed being open was normal for me.

My mother adores my partner and his family loves me. I think this is the way it should be frankly.

Lastly, my Mom said something very profound during one of her recent visits.

She said, "I don't understand this country or some of our political leaders. Why shouldn't gay couples be allowed to marry? I mean after all, you and Sonny probably have the most functional, loving relationship in our whole family and considering how bad most heterosexuals have screwed up marriage, myself included. It just makes no sense"

a wise woman indeed.. Love you Mom!

Mom said something very profound during one of her recent vi

Seasoned mothers are probably the sanest people in the world.

(Note: I purposely left out soccer moms.)

I've said it before and I'll always say it - I'm very happy to be who I am, and damned proud of it, and have always been. And who doesn't like it, well, that's their problem. I wouldn't change the fact that I'm gay for anything. It's not just the intimacy with a man (FABULOUS!!!), I think it's more the way I view things and see the world because of my sexuality that makes me glad I am who I am.

Mike -"On another note though...notice how something like this comes up and takes the heat away from the war in Iraq and the Gonzales mess. very observant, though, people aren't going to forget Iraq.
still this administration from the beginning has been corrupt.
Someone should right a book(hopefully someone has). A weekly, no daily journal of the scandalous rude crap these people have pulled.
From the very beginning they claimed that the Clinton administration had "trashed" the White house because they were mad about loosing, something they later quietly apologized for and admitted wasn't true.
It has just been one pathetic high school prank after another. Americans have got to be on overload keeping this crap organized in their minds.

then
" She ought to get herself checked to make sure she doesnt have anything "exotic" going on with her gooch ...n'est pas,."

LOL, I like that.
but really do you think that she has had SEX with him EVER? maybe a long time ago once or twice. These woman didn't marry for sex. Back 'in the day' this is how woman got power and status.
If she got anything "exotic", she got it from Julio the gardener or from the plumber -Ramon 'the bone' who cleans the pipes once a month.

CNN's American Morning reports..

Sen. Larry "hypocrite" Craig could likely announce his resignation today from the Senate.

Now, I want to know when the other criminal and hypocrite David Vitter of Louisiana will resign.

a song from one of my favourite Aussie singers, Kate Ceberano...

She is a gorgeous straight woman so she can get away with such naughty lyrics...

Kate Ceberano - Young Boys are My Weakness
********************************************

Chorus
Young boys are my weakness
I just like their sweetness

Hey boys let's mess around
I wanna party with you on the town
Some boys really make me swing
There ain't nothin' like a pretty young thing
Young boys are really mellow
You don't believe me then just try this fellow
(I know what to say when they call me on the phone)
You call me back when your momma ain't home

Chorus
Young boys weakness
I just like their sweetness

Hey boys let's mess around
I wanna party with you on the town
some boys really make me swing
There ain't nothin' like a pretty young thing

Chorus
Young boys are my weakness
I just like their sweetness
(pretty young thing what ya gonna do?)
I just wanna get me hands on YOU

Young boys you make me move
Young boys you set the groove
Young boys taste as sweet as honey
Don't taste as good as my money

Solo saxophone

Chorus
Young boys are my weakness
I just like their sweetness

Repeat to Fade

While I think it is wonderful that a few people here had accepting parents, it is not the norm when it comes to having a gay son or daughter. For every wonderful story like yours, there are at least 5 horrible ones to tell. I had to leave my home at an early age to escape beatings. A friend of mine had all his belongings thrown out into the street and was banned from his house at 15 years old. He lives here in the Mid-West now, but grew up in Colorado.
Just because someone lives in a blue state, it does not mean everyone loves gay people. It simply means the majority are democrats.
My boyfriend is in prison right now, and his family does nothing for him. They have never visited him, or even wrote. His mother gave birth to him when she was 13 years old. His father was a pimp, and has been in prison since 1980.The last time he was released, he fought with his stepfather, and stepdad pointed a gun at him and threatened to shot him. This time he will be coming to live at my house. Nobody has ever been there for him. I am all he has, and I am taking good care of him. His mother hates me so much, that she won't even allow me to come get his mail so I can send it to him. Yet she won't send it to him herself. She should be glad that I am in his life, yet she hates instead. These are some of the reasons that many gays in the Black community live their lives "on the low" "Nobody is gay in the Black community" is what my boyfriend sometimes says. He sometimes cries, because he is afraid of losing me. I always let him know that I am his as long as he wants me. He says he always feels better after he talks with me. Our love for each other is just as strong as anyones. Even if we don't call each other "hubby" I could tell you all stories that would be shocking to most of you, but I will not. Just trust me that I live my life the best way for me and him. And that should be all that I need to say.

Rick~

believe me, I realize how lucky I am. Your story is very touching. I think considering what you had to face in your life, you turned out to be a terrific and giving person.

It is also very disturbing to hear of such rampant homophobia within the black community. For a minority group that has suffered at the hands of bigots, there is quite an element of hypocrisy there.

Stay in touch..

Shane

And Rick - you just summed up beautifully exactly what it is that is wrong with pieces of shit like ex-Sen. Larry Craig, and all of the other self-loathing closet case faggots like him. For those who think it's not our business.....guess again. People's lives have been and are being destroyed simply because of a genetic disposition that no one has any control over, unless of course we care to lie to ourselves and everyone else. That lie is certainly more palatable to many than being an admitted homosexual. If this isn't a travesty, then nothing is.

Stop or i'll shoot

~you wouldnt faint if that cop took out his weapon...you would...........

BLUSHES ALL DEMURELY, EYELASHES BATTING.......

Yes, I daresay I think I would faint. Hopefully from the pain involved in merely LOOKING AT the massiveness of the thing and the spheres. 'Cause you know if that thing goes off it's gonna hurt and do some damage.

(Note: "Sphere" is used to mean "bullet" in Greek! *LOL*)

I would bet that there are quite a few gay democrats also, but it wouldn't be big deal to "out" a democrat.(if they are not already "out")
The republican party is the party that has aligned itself with the bible thumpers. In order to keep their "holy" votes, the republicans have to pretend they are outraged to find one of their own is gay. They have to make a big deal out of something should be very personal. Someones sexuality. The truth be known, most republicans involved in politics could care less who does what with who. They are involved with politics for the power, money and business interests, not for "moral values" What a bunch of crap! I hate being used. In particular to help elect a republican!

I would bet that there are quite a few gay democrats also, b

The difference is that Democrats get to stay in office while the Republicans either step down or are booted out.

Yes, you are correct Peter. But they are "booted" because of the reasons that I listed above. <:

OK, so Barney Frank and his boy prostitute ring get to stay in office and Edward Kennedy who let a girl drown gets to stay in office and whats-his-name with the bribe money in his freezer gets to stay in office because they don't proclaim to be "bible thumpers"? Does that say that Democrats are the party of lower moral values? The Democrats are the party of "letting it slide"?

No, the outrage is genuine. The difference is that Republicans have the fortitude to either step down or kick a member out, while the Democrats get a pass. Nice.

Glad I vote Libertarian every chance I get... :)

I have a question. As a non American I absolutely cringe each and everytime I hear a US politician or anyone in fact uttering the words "God Bless America" It sounds so utterly meaningless, rote driven, brain-wash induced must be said. Does it bother any of you?
God doesn't have any business in government just as in the words of our former prime minister Pierre Trudeau, the government has no business in the bedrooms of the nation, whereupon he decriminalized homosexuality in Canada back in the early 70's.. Actually he wasn't prime minister then, he was the attorney general or something..

Oh, Pete--

It bothers me greatly.

I deplore the common American practise of politicians mentioning God in every other sentence.

Yes, I do try to be a Christian, but I also am a BIG fan of the separation of Church and State.

I do not want my government telling me where and with whom and how I can worship.

My particular congregation is firm about no endorsements from the pulpit, even when a member is a candidate.

Alan Dershowitz has a new book out on the matter called "Blaphsemy." I think it's great. He proves that the Founding Fathers instead of endorsing a State religion were appalled at the thought.

Lawrence/Maytagbear

Teddy paid the price for the accident that happened about 40years ago. He has done a lot of good for the people in his years in office.
I don't recall Barney Frank, so I cannot comment on that.

I am sure that it will be the democrats that stand with the gay community for civil rights. I can tell you for sure it will not be the republicans or the librataians.

Oh boy,

"OK, so Barney Frank and his boy prostitute ring get to stay in office and Edward Kennedy who let a girl drown gets to stay in office and whats-his-name with the bribe money in his freezer gets to stay in office because they don't proclaim to be "bible thumpers"? Does that say that Democrats are the party of lower moral values? The Democrats are the party of "letting it slide"?

It's like listening to the republican "talking points" that they pass around to try and make their reality, their fake reality, on fox(faux) news and that druggy white-trash lard-ass limbaugh. Verbatim

PeteeeeH, you need to find other media outlets and perhaps open your mind.
Thinking really isn't BAD for a person, contrary to what those media outlets imply.

Put a little oil in there, hear the gears start to turn.

(perhaps this baby is permanently seized, lol)

Your an embarassment to yourself.

And you aren't going off on liberal talking points? Please...

I'm with Robert -- this bathroom activity is not appropriate, and an elected official only makes it worse. Party affiliation has no part in how it should be dealt with. But the difference is the glee the liberal media takes on it and how much coverage it gets.

Granted, it is a 2-way street. There would be just as much glee in talk radio if a liberal official is found doing the same.

As for Limbaugh, I don't listen to him. Nor do I watch Fox.

But the fact remains, the 2 parties deal with corruption differently, and that is a sad comment about the people running our country.

Show me how these so called talking points are wrong instead of attacking me with empty allegation.

Oh Peteee...

I'm sure i can correct your assertions for every 'idea' that you voice.

And as you all have seen, I don't have a problem with spilling blood when necessary(view the mouse killing thread), however, this is a family friendly dinner hour program and I don't want or need to upset the general populous.

I will agree with you in one of your statements.

"But the fact remains, the 2 parties deal with corruption differently, and that is a sad comment about the people running our country. "

Yes Peteee,
Democrats work to correct problems while republicans reward wrong doers giving them medals of honor and job promotions.
for example, why isn't rudy Giuliani going to be president? lol,
why did gonzo, tony snow, and tubby McTreason (rove) recently exit the white house? Amongst others.
And who has been the ones to clean up the messes made by past corrupt administrations. It's almost always
the Democrats.

I guess when we need to know the days talking points on fox/faux news,
when we need to know if the world still revolves around pastey white older southern american men,
when we need to know that it is foreigners that are the root of all the problems,
and assurances that global warming is just made up,
we can ask you for the BEST advice.
right

Really, I'm sure you mean well, but the people see the error in the type thinking your repeating.
Take a step back, and look at things again.

I know for myself gawd knows I wouldnt want to even think about working in government and have your life under a microscope. Every time you do something or someone its front page news. I just couldnt imagine. I too am glad that there is separation of chuch and state...look at the countries like Saudi Arabia and the like that enforce Islamic rule on everyone. Yet we turn a blind eye to the crap that goes on there to a degree.
The GOP has a full plate and the prize winners that they are offering up for a possible presidential run really has alot to be desired. Whats sad is that I think that Romney might get the nod. Now thats a moron. As governor of Mass he was running around the country more than he was in his office on Beacon HIll. I am sure something will rear its ugly head on that one.
Washertalk...it didnt even dawn on me that maybe Mrs Craig was usin the ol vibrator... who knew...Besides when you look the guy it kinda reminds me of Chester the Molester.....the respectable kind.
I will have to hand it to the Minnesota State Police for picking a hottie he is adorable and nice voice to boot. My mind is running what I could say...even though I wouldnt even think about doing it there...my thats on awfully big stick you have there ...oh my where are my manners. Thats just not Southern of me...Southern Maine that is.

The Wrong Points

"OK, so Barney Frank and his boy prostitute ring get to stay in office "

Wrong, Frank never ran a prostitution ring. He did take in a young man with a questionable past who wound up running such a ring - and Frank has always maintained that was without his knowledge. Furthermore, when Frank was clued in by the landlord about what was going on when he wasn't home, he threw the ringleader out of his home.

"and Edward Kennedy who let a girl drown gets to stay in office"

I'm not sure being drunk and fighting for your own life and physically unable to dive back down and rescue the girl and too drunk to remember what happened counts as "letting the girl drown". It does count as being a worthless alcoholic, though.

" and whats-his-name with the bribe money in his freezer gets to stay in office because they don't proclaim to be "bible thumpers"?

If you're referring to Congressman Jefferson, if he was so obviously guilty why didn't the Republican controlled Congress kick him out when they had the chance? For now it's enough to let him face charges in court - and last time I checked, one is still innocent until proven otherwise.

"Does that say that Democrats are the party of lower moral values? The Democrats are the party of "letting it slide"? "

"No, the outrage is genuine. The difference is that Republicans have the fortitude to either step down or kick a member out, while the Democrats get a pass. Nice. "

Like many conservatives, you miss the point. If Ted Kennedy had been pontificating about the dangers of alcohol abuse before his tragic accident, you can be sure the Dems would have pilloried him more than they already have. If Barney Frank had been championing capital punishment for prostitutes and pimps, then sure it would have been even more of an outrage. And if Rep. Jefferson had basing his political career on a stand against corruption, then yes, he'd be even more despicable than he already may be.

"But the fact remains, the 2 parties deal with corruption differently, and that is a sad comment about the people running our country."

While Jefferson might be corrupt, and that remains to be proven in court, I don't see how Kennedy's accident or Frank's poor choice of live-in lovers has much to do with corruption of any sort. What seems to me to be true is that the Republicans tend to posture themselves as holier-than-thou, and use so-called "family values" as a weapon to harass, discriminate, and punish those who don't meet a very narrow definition of the wholesome American nuclear family. So yes, I join those who chortle when one of those arch-hypocrits is revealed to have secret behaviors as deplorable, if not moreso, than those they preach against in public.

End of my rant.

Glad I vote Libertarian every chance I get... :)
