I purchased this dryer product yesterday and did 3 loads. This is a cool product and its looks like a bar of soap. I did a load of laundry without using any fabric softner and compared it to a load which I used Downy. I could not tell any difference and NO static. I like the idea that its white so that I won't come off on color clothes. It also states it will last about 4 months depending on the number of loads you used and the temp. you use as well

The grocery store that I shop at had them 2 for $7.77 for the four month. Of course that was the day I didn't have a lot of cash on me or I would have gotten two of them. Which scent are you using?

Free N Soft

was the original dryer pad.I don't remember who made it but it came out back in the mid 70's. you'd strip the strip that had adheasive on it and place it to the edge or side of the tumble arm in the dryer. If the drum tumbled clockwise, the strip went on the left of the arm. If it tumbled counterclockwise,it went on the right side of the tumble arm. You'd know when to replace it(usualy 2 or 3 months later)when the clothes began sticking together from the static cling.I realy like d it,but that was when I used my dryer more than not.I currently hang everything out unless there's rain.

With all the proliferation of Tide laundry products, I'd have imagined Tide would be more creative with their scents on a product like this:

Some of these would be:

Tutti-Fruit-Mango-Orange Scent
Blow Your Head Off Roses
Burn Your Eyes Out Vanilla

I hate these "strange" scents. What about just plain old "Clean Scent"? Back in the 90's I used an Arrid deodorant that was called "Baby Fresh". It smelled like talcum powder. Very nice and clean.

Good Question dirtybuck!!

I thought I had purchased a Tide product because there are so many new Tide products like stain lifter, etc. in the same color box and were all on the same shelf. I threw away the package after sticking this bar inside my dryer. Now I'm comfused :(

I'm wondering if....

....these bars adhesives don't have the same nasty tendency to leave residue on the dryer drum. My old GE dryer (bought used) had a Free n Soft nasty adhesive mark from the day I bought it until the day I sold it.

Follow up,

The one I purchased was indeed from Bounce. The adhesive question is a good one. I suppose if you wanted to remove the base, just use some acetone/alcohol or some other adhesive removal. So far, I like this product. I don't have to use liquid fabric softener if I don't want to. There is no static when I removed the clothes from the dryer and barely no pungent scent
