I've had that in the Dual-Tumble (with Mexican detergents) on more than one occasion and have been thankful that there's no detergent dispenser!!

How high does that Haier fill for a regular wash on the normal water level?

The Haier fills about 1/4 for the wash and 1/3 for the rinses. I used 1/2 a cup of Tide Coldwater powder... which was a DUMB thing to do! Especially seeing as how I was only washing one spring jacket... I guess I'm just not used to using FL's with regular detergent. I use Tide HE at dad's all the time in the Duet and it just didn't dawn on me that i was about to use regular soap. That particular cycle, (Cottons,) takes over 2 hours and 20 minutes. 2/3 of the cycle is the wash portion,I stopped it after about 20 minutes of wash. I checked on it before I left to run some errands. If I had left without checking it and it washed for the full 90ish minutes... THAT would have been a nightmare!!!

Downy is useless for a massive over suds as this; instead try a small amount of any pure oil until one sees the suds going down. This tip was given to me by our appliance repair person if one ever has to deal with an over sudsing dishwasher or washing machine.

Some people use soap to break up over sudsing in a front loader, but it is the fat/oil contained in true soaps that does the sud suppression. Silocone (another type of oil)works as well.

For such a small amount of laundry, you really only needed 1 teaspoon of Tide CW. Only use 1 tablespoon in our front loader for an average full 11 pound load. One half cup of any detergent in a front loader would probably cause vast amounts of sudsing.

That looks a lot like the time my mom use liquid dish soap in our dishwasher. There was a larget pile of foam on the floor that time though.

TideHE

Yes, Jamie, I know. I tried it too, but just a little bit and it made a huge sudscake in the washer and took a lot of rinses and Downy to tame those suds.
