PureEssentials.com in the Background!

I am nuts this morning! While posting all these Shark's Remarks, the PureEssentials.com Web site is open with the background tune running. Wished I could find a copy of this music to add to my collection. The background theme from the Downy.com Web site may be had as a free MP3 download by entering Downy.com and then go into the Media Center.--Laundry Shark

I cannot find these new products ANYWHERE!! grrrr....

And the New York market is usually quick to pick up on the new products.

Maybe (hopefully) it's the beginning of a trend to incorporate more mellow, natural fragrances into our laundry products...

Is this supposed to compete against Arm & Hammer naturals or stomp them out? Is the P&G Simple Pleasures line starting to die out and this is the next best thing?

Lemon verbena has nothing to do with citrus lemon fruit...

Borrowing from European marketing?

I'm just wondering has P&G "seen the light" in Europe where it has various 'natural' products

E.g. Bold Essences
Lavender & Camomile
Apple Blossom & Lime Zest
Spa Minerals
Crushed Silk and Jasmine

Lenor - similar line up.

They were responding to Unilever's offerings -
Persil with Aloe Vera etc etc
+ huge range of Comfort softener versions.

Yeah, but Persil Aloe Vera has been out for a few years already. I highly doubt any Persil AV users will switch to P&G...

Tide Pure Essentials, Arm & Hammer's latest offering et al are all riding on the coat tails of the natural product trend. Products by such brand names as Mrs. Meyer's, Caldrea and others have a huge following in the natural/aromatherapy/essential oil for cleaing market.

What is different is most of the later offerings above use plant based and or "natural"/safe for the environment things to make up their products. P&G as well as the other big dogs do not disclose entire formulas, so we do not know what is in those containers. Probabl is nothing more than Tide liquid base along with some baking soda and essential oil fragrance.

There are only so many ways to skin a cat, and P&G has to chase every "trend" to keep sales of their market leader on top. There is growing awareness of consumers in how they react with the environment, but how items in their home/clothes they wear can affect their health. Mrs.Meyer's and Caldrea also have turned housekeeping into a "uplifting" experience with their essential oil based products.

At least they all have to reveal all of their ingredients in the EU now.
