I tried the TWD. The smell was nice. I like lots of scent especially in towels and sheets. When I still had my neptune it worked well. Now with the bosch it doesnt like it. I got lots and lots of suds. I cut the dose back to next to nothing and still had problems with suds. The bosch however is known for its sudsing issues anyway. So its back to powder tide he and powder cheer.

Scott, how much of the Cheer powder do you use in your Bosch. I've been a little concerned about trying it, since the Cheer HE liquid is too sudsy for the Bosch. Also, have you tried the Tide Coldwater powder, would like to try that also. Thanks, Todd

I saved a scoop from my protein shake container. A full scoop is about 3 tbs. I use a full scoop for really dirty or really large loads. About half scoop for small or light soil. I also have another scoop I use for clorox-2. I have not tried TCW. The general consense say it works well. How well it works in a bosch remains to be seen.

BTW which bosch do you have? We have the nexxt (6400)

While back posted a link in another thread about TCW.

Apparently the enzymes, bleaching agents and other chemicals in TCW really are designed to work in cool/cold water. In this rare case hotter water temps,even "warm" actually can impede the cleaning performance of this product. CR's testing bore out this fact in that their results were best in cold water, and not so good in hot water. Just noticed the other day on the inside of my TCW box it does say the product give great cleaning in hot, warm or cold, but cold water is best.

Took out the Hoover TT yesterday to soak a large white linen tablecloth covered in food,red wine and other stains that had been sitting for several days. After one hour of soaking the entire tablecloth was CLEAN, clean I tell you; not a trace of spots or stains.

Now if P&G would come out with a scent free version of TCW, I'd be in heaven.

cehalstead-- Wow, thanks for that bit of info. I'm going to do a load of highly-stained kitchen whites tonight, so I'll try not using the auto-temp COLD setting. We had spaghetti and homemade pizza for Sunday dinner today and the cloth napkins are quite disgusting. I'll see how it compares to loads washed using auto-temp. I'd love to never turn my washer's hot water faucet on again.

Controlled-cold on my IWL12 targets between 68°F and 70°F, but I've seen 65°F incoming and no hot adding to the mix. Very rare that I have 40°F incoming.

Scott, thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. We have the 6400 also. It's a great machine, but fussy about soap.

Tide CW performance in v. cold water

I tried using the 'tap' cold setting for a load of highly stained kitchen whites last night. The temp of the water coming from the tap was 44-degrees. Found that it worked well on all stains except greasy ones. Tide reps say CW should perform well down to 40-degrees, but I'm going back to using my auto-temp cold setting. I've been spoiled by the performance of the detergent at 65-degrees.

Again, this is Minnesota in the winter and our cold tap water gets REALLY cold this time of year....
