Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's about time that we come to realize what these machines are really worth! They're not making them anymore and in a few years, even sets like these, will be most difficult to find unless a collector is selling them. Hope the new buyer really enjoys those machines, and I hope the seller really enjoys spending the money! Mark

What are they worth??

The machines are, like anything else, worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them. Right now the 1950's and 1960's items are very hot. This club, along with the on line auctions have contributed to the great increase in prices. However that is not really a bad thing. Good buys are still out there for everyone. You just have to get out there and find them, and do the hard work of the restorations. Or pay the price for the ones that are restored. That is not unreasonable! People have been doing this with classic cars for decades.
I bought this 1965 Kenmore set at a church sale three years ago for $10.00 each. And they were only worth $10.00 in the condition they were in. They have been fully restored. What would they be worth today??

Paint jobs

One of my friends painted this set. He works for a new car dealer body shop, and does paint work on my cars also. It cost $50.00 to paint both of these. I had stripped the appliances down to pieces. Only the "shells" were taken to the body shop.My friend Tim did all the prep and paint work.

The Kenmore dryer is electric.

Congratulations !

My mind has been blown away! I can't imagine. I actually thought about bidding on this set. Thinking St Louis is only 8 hrs away. I could start a collection. Think I will have to stick with collecting the DVD's and dreaming. WOW! <p> So when is the P A R T Y Chris ?

I hear yah, jmirawn...

...I live in a 2nd and 3rd story townhouse, so the only thing I can collect is dust. Rick those Kenmore's are beautiful!!! Were they originally turquoise?

When I look at the new appliances, I can't help but wonder out loud -- will pics of them be posted somewhere 30,40,50 years from now?

Rick, about that dryer...interesting door...I believe my Mom's LK was from that era, but had a full width door. (Or is my memory failing me in my old age? :)

Kenmore models

Thanks, The Kenmores are the original color, not original paint however. These are 800 models. I think that is one step below the "Lady" series. The "Ladies" had the full width door. The control panels on KM are always very nice. Here are close ups.

Washer panel

65 KM. The chrome trim is flawless on these. These machines were beat up and scratched, but not rusted. I was glad for that. All I did was clean and polish the control panels and touch up the black trim on the washer panel.

Kenmore models color!

Rick,
I think this is a real cool looking set. I remember looking at these in sears when I was a young kid. I wish they made the color today. Best of luck with them.

A secretary that used to work near me had this set in white. Original owner, they'd been stored some during the years when they had to go overseas. These lasted until 1992 or 1993. She thought I was crazy that I was wild about her kenmore set.

love roberts machines

i love roberts machines. if i only had the room.. as far as my kids go.. well they are paid for and will leave today. the cash will go to a good cause. mastercard and a fun trip in june..

Steven

It must have been someone who really wanted them. If someone has no knowledge on how to refurbish a machine and that is the machine that they want, they'll pay it! They get double that for fridges all the time. Washers are a lot harder to come buy. So it really doesn't surprise me at all!
