It heats up on Regular for about 5 min, then gets cold. On perm press, it heats the whole time..Could it be the timer or the igniter?

I'd be wondering about the regular temp thermostat. Most of the halos used individual thermostats for the various temperatures...

That doesn't look like a HOH dryer to me the door is too large. In any case I believe a dryer this basic only has one operating thermostat. Yes it could be a bad timer but I would be sure that its really consistent about heating fine on premapress. Try drying a large load of towels on PP and see if it works. If it starts to not heat it could be bad gas valve coils, if it is the timer its very easy to test with a volt meter or ohm meter and you should be able to clean and or adjust the heat contact in the timer.

Yep, you called it. I should have looked closer. That is indeed a big load dryer. Now, I'm starting to suspect the gas valve coils as that is a common failure for them...

Checked the temp
I put the meat thermometer in the duct...It heats up on Regular and Perm Press ok. If I open the door and restart it, it does not heat up..I am going to try a load later and see if it stays hot the whole time

just tried a load
and it did not heat up....sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt!
