Just curious if anyone else has used a timer on their Gas Power Vent Water Heaters?
I have put one on mine for the last 40 days or so to see if I would notice a difference in the bill. I have it set to run from 7 AM to Noon. Then run again from 8 PM to Midnight. I noticed while at home that it would come on (without being on a timer) about every 90 minutes and run for about 7 minutes max. Now that it on a timer when it comes back on it runs to recoup the heating of the water for about 15 to 20 minutes. This can vary if I use hot water during the 'off' time.
I know there is no Gas peak hours like electricity. The amazing part is that the first gas bill having it on the timer was a savings of almost $14.00.
Just wanted to put it out to the club and see if anyone else has put a timer on their Gas Power Vent Water Heater, and if so did you see a savings.
It will be interesting to see this winter if the savings continue.
