Not as clear as i wanted... Now.. The out side unit has sounded like a bunch of monkeys banging on a metal trash can for 4 days or so.. Today the outside unit stopped and overheated.. Heres why....

Does any one notcie what is messed up?? Big Hint: There is a metal piece where it doesn't belong

I can;t believe the once again "band-aided" this 24 year old unit back together again. In two weeks (by then we hopefully will be moved) it will go out again...

blade in two

I've never seen that before either. Would be an easy fix though, providing the loose metal didn't bust a hole in the coil.

I have a central air-condition here that was put in in 1968 and it still works wonderfully.

It must vibrate a lot! The lack of metal on the fan should make for an imbalance. Oh, by the way, with the money you are going to have to spend on this you could buy one of those Haier air conditioners at Walgreens.

LoL
Thank god its the apartment complexs issue..
Never saw a balde due that either, but they had one on hand.. But it did screw up the compressor.. They band aided it back together again, but we are moving.. This tupid thing costs us $170 a month to run (electric bill)... GGRRRR We are moving soon

Uh Huh
Broken for the 7th time.. We are sueing the managment company adn teh complex.. Caused my partner a sezuire on 2 occasions, we had to buy a window unit for back up and its costing us $100 more on the electric bill

Never seen a fan propellor break as shown in the picture-wonder if it was corrosion. Also don't see a "slinger" under the fan--a plastic or metal disc shaped peice that prevents rain or snow from leaking into the motor.Had to put these in when I replaced fans or motors in AC units at radio stations. If you forget the slinger-your new motor may not last long.Usually the slinger comes packed with the new fan motor. You put it on before the fan prop.
