This guy obviously went 'googling' and stumbled across some website that sells restored appliances for thousands and thinks that his automatically is worth exactly the same. I call it 'antique store syndrome'. Where prices are inflated over their actual value. I see it all the time in the well-known internet C-Lassifieds website.

Sure, they're neat and in good shape, but seriously. I hope he wants to keep them because they're not going to sell.

The Meatball is a 1934 to 1968 style

some google searches give a 1966 time frame for the models.

The stoves chassis is about the same as the 1971 Hotpoint Electronic range here.

The GE Meatball logo is a 1934 to 1968 style on the fridges paper sticker.

The color scheme to me seems more like late 1950's to mid 1960's.

Thus Here my guess is that stuff is earlier than 1969 based on the logo, "sort of close" to 1971 based on my own range. The LIFE adverts and colors pull me towards a President Johnson era,

Wildly high ebay prices

Sometimes these prices are to launder money, or to just please a spouse that one tried to sell off stuff. In some ebay items I have seen items got for 10 to 20 times the normal rate and SELL too.

Saw That Little Number Yesterday

But no longer bother posting "Start Laughing .... Now" items about auctions for vintage items with insane opening bids. They are common enough now as tramps at a convention. *LOL*

It does seem everything vintage being hawked on eBay comes with almost absurd opening bids. Wringer washing machines, if not wringers (mangles) themselves starting out at $500. How many housewives/laundry persons are dying to do laundry that way again?

What most of these seller fail to appreciate is shipping any of the larger vintage items is simply non-cost effective, even if the thing is being given away free. Only true collectors would be willing to either foot the bill for shipping (if it can be arranged), and or travel great distances to collect the item. Either way in the end I for one wouldn't' want to pay several thousands of dollars unless the thing was MIB and promised to work.

Once and for all these appliances were made somewhere between 1962 (the first year the introduced this style Americana Range and 1965 (the last year GE offered turqouise before replacing it wqith avacodo in 1966)........PAT COFFEY

I'd say either '64 or '65 based on the fridge handle style. Relatives got one of these in Coppertone when they built a new home in '65. I'm thinking GE used that handle from about '64 until '68.

According to his About Me page, he's Dr. Morton Mazaheri and has his own skin care cosmatic (sic) line. From what I can see in the smallish pix on the site, he had the same plastic surgeon M Jackson had. This is definitely someone to be trusted.
