Isn't there any used appliance junkyards or stores anywhere, in Canada? There should be a good stash of parts sitting on a dusty shelf somewhere just waiting to be discovered!
Well Kevin, I know of one place in Edmonton that has a stash of vintage parts but I'm not going to be there until the spring sometime. I've been around to the local places and picked up what I could find: SQ tub guards, pumps, solenoids even a brand new fluid drive! But I have yet to see a SQ filter. If I find one I'll let you know because I won't use it, it impedes my view of the action!

I keep my eye out for parts anyone is looking for though I'm not able to pick up whole machinery. Re Speed Queen I never see them anywhere. The only SQ machines I've ever seen here are usually the commercial laundry equipment. Either they didn't sell them for the home market or they were not that common. Kenmore/Whirpool, GE's and Maytag plus all their variants under different store names etc are the most common ones I ever see.
I don't care about the entire machine. If nothing else,I would like to have the console, and lint filter off a 1963,64 Speed Queen washer. It had cursive caligrophy. I appreciate any trouble that anyone has gone to on my behalf and I apologize for any inconvenience, Thank you.
Bet if we could figure out the demographics for the now, I guess its defunct OTASCO, Oklahome tire and auto supply co. they were similar to Western Auto stores they sold SQ heavily and with credit, especially in rural areas in the midwest. and south down the 55 corridor into Mississippi. Just a thought but if there is a chance of finding your filter bet it turns up somewhere around an old otasco village. Guess many of em are long lost or thrown away didnt the Sq? solid tub end their run in the early 1980's? Of course if one surfaces im sure someone will send you an e mail. alr2903.
