Ok, I guess it was a bit too easy for most of you...

 

That's one of the few things that still lacked to my small Frigidaire collection. A real Frigidaire top loading dishwasher! I already have a 1965 Super D&M but had no real Frigidaire top loading dishwasher until yesterday!

A part of the serial number is missing but here's the picture of the model tag. It's a 1971 model. 

 

I now have a Frigidaire dishwasher of every line. A Super, two Deluxe, a Custom Deluxe, an Imperial and a Custom Imperial.

Oh, cool, Phil - glad you found the date on this! I was sure it was a 1968 or 1969 model. Can't wait to see how it performs - the seller said it didn't leak and it was in perfect operating condition.

I cannot believe this turned up literally down the street from where I work in Montreal!!

The plastisol interior is in quite nice shape. Just some minor bubbling around the rinse agent dispenser, I should be able to fix that! I just wish I could find Plastisol tubes with the matching color! All I found so far were tiny bottles of expsensive Frigidaire rack repair stuff that doesn't match exactly with the color of the Plastisol. 

 

I also need to find a caster to replace the missing one (I welded two others, one was fine!) and a timer knob, or at least something to replace the missing bright disc on it.

I just finished repairing the casters and I made a new center section for the timer knob out of an aluminum piece I cut from a maple sap bucket that was damaged... Not perfect but will be ok until I find a better one!

 

Still needs some cleaning!  And I still need to test the dishwasher but it seems to work...

I had to be a bit creative to recreate the "engine turned" look on the aluminum piece but it worked pretty well! It looks better now without the dark glue spot on the white plastic part.

The more of these I see, the more I want to create a kitchen especially designed for a couple or more top-loading portables. I'd sure love to put one right next to a sink to operate like one of those old Youngstown sink/dishwasher combos.

I finally had some time to test it and everything seems to work fine. It has the same features as my 4 years newer Custom Deluxe unbdercounter dishwasher. Double detergent dispenser and rinse dispenser, 4 level wash and the same features... But it still has a  blue Plastisol-coated tub.

The fe3atures changed very little in the time this rendition was on the market from the late 1960s until when the last design was introduced in like 12974 or 12975.  Only thing that changed probably was the dial background went from white to the black dial like you have on this one.
