Todays flea find: a blue convertible

Found this model 701 this morning in fair shape, a few scuffs and the cord has some bad cuts and a replacement plug but it works just fine. New lightbulb needed and a good cleaning but that'll have to wait. Has the matching blue handgrip as well not shown.

That's the same as the US model 70, from the mid 60's. Yours is a later one, with the small Hoover medallion, the sticker, rather than the clip-on.

Here's my flea market find of the day

It's a Moss Company plexiglass lamp from the fifties. The guy that sold it to me said it's been in a box for the last 25 or 30 years. It's in pristine condition. There's a florescent light bulb in the middle and a three way switch for the bulb on the top. Moss lamps can be a bit girly for me, but I thought this one was quite attractive.

Some other finds

I got the Royal Haeger vase and the shark fin ashtray from a lady for 20 bucks. Not two minutes later, I got a matching Haeger ashtry, same mottled white finish, for 2 bucks from a lady a couple of booths away. The turquoise on the inside of the vase doesn't hurt either.

Great cleaner Pete! I have one too! My friend Roger has a unique model 70, in that the "Hoover" on the bag got printed in the wrong place and it's hidden behind the handle. Mine is put away and I can't remember right now if it has the large or small medallion, but I know the bag is printed correctly.

Let see, I have this blue one, the salmony orange, a brown, a denim and the green. I've been putting the vacs out into the rental container so I may be forgetting one.

Mike, now that's a lamp. I'll put it on my list as snatch-worthy.
Now how come your kitchen towel/paper dispenser isn't wall mounted?

Pete, I guess I never mounted the dispenser because it works fine just sitting on the counter. I'm not sure where I would mount it if I decided to. I'd have to drill holes in something.
