This was mother Toggles first DW!
We had it in an under-counter model with a wooden panel (as was the style then)to match the cupboards/cabinentry <br
To the left of the red "TEMP DELAY" light was a switchable 12 or 26 minute heated dry. No unheated dry oprion. <br
There were lights over the rectangular cycle/programme selection buttons. <br
There was no movable timer knob. [The timer was hidden]. What looks like a timer was actually a plastic "cup" with indicator lignts. W-R-R-W-R-R-Dry. The neon lights moved around the dial, the dial itself was stationary. <br
and YAY to fan-forced drying and Roto-racks! <br
*WOW* it was a space-ship it had so many lights/indicators Gadgets! WE LIKE GADGETS!

That does look like a timer dial. I knew a few people with the roto rack machine but none like this one. This is a interesting design. Did the normal wash heat the water? One person I knew had a later roto rack model with a seperate sani button as a option. Another had a more basic model.

hidden timers!

The Waste Kings of the same period had their timers behind a clear plactic cover..what a pain when you had to find a spot in the cycle or component that was malfunctioning. But maybe my feeble, old brain remembers that there was a way to get the cover off to advance the timer manually? Anybody remember those units?

I wonder what the difference was between Normal and Heavy. The 155 degree sani-temp wash simply heated the final rinse water to 155. Stevet we had one of those Waste Kings. I wish the timer did rotate back to start after the rinse&hold cycle, but it didn't. It just stayed put. And no, there was no convenient way to remove the plastic cover. My dad had to fix something on the machine once and involved something with the timer. After the repair, it was never in sync like it was spoze to be. Originally the timer would turn off at about the 50 second period in the increment. That was where R&H turned off or the machine shut off at the end of thed ry cycle. Thus to start the machine at the beginning of the cycle, ya just held start button down for 3-5 seconds and timer would move to increment. Afterr the fix, it "stopped" at the beginning of the increment. Had to hold the start down for a full minute to get it to begin the cycle and also to hold the start down at end of R&H so that the water would drain out.

Not sure, but I'm guessing one of the Heavy Wash ("Power Wash" wash phases was heated to 155*F, which would also have extended the wash time as the water heated.
